Anybody a fan?

I've only seen The Thin Red Line, which I absolutely love.

I'm compelled to see "The New World".

No, but I'm going to.

On the face of it, from what I've seen in previews, etc, it looks and sounds like shit. But it IS Mallick, and I'm a fan.

You really should track down Badlands.

Exactly.
I hate Colin Farrell, and the story line doesn't really interest me at all, yet I still think I'll probably like it...

I'm a Malick fan too.

Additionally, I am also compelled to see The New World. I really dig that partlicular historical era.

End message.

I suspect you'll like it a lot more than that "wind in the grass" movie.

Watched "The New World" last night.

The performances from Farrell and the girl were much better than expected. This might have been because I have such low expectations of Farrell (and he doesn't actually say much), and the girl couldn't possibly be as bad as she seemed in the previews. Bale was probably the pick of the main actors (though honourable mention should go to Ben Mendelsohn...).

Despite seeming like "Thin Red Line" set in 1600 for the first half an hour or so, I really had no trouble liking this film. It's absorbing, evocative, stunning and thought-provoking.
