Anybody ever watch this series on the SciFi Channel?

I remember seeing the movie and loving the first half and then hating the rest.

But as far the the show went I've always been on the fence if I should watch it or not and now there's a billion seasons and series out that I'll need another extension on my unemployment just to have the free time.

Is it worth getting into? If so- do I need to watch it from the beginning or is there a particular series or season that's best to start with?

I liked the film, but hate the TV show - I briefly liked ...Atlantis, tried the new one (Universe?) but it sucks bawz.
