Re: highlight of your day?
have to look out for that colony show , sounds interesting .
today i went to "treasure days" in bridgeview . its the whole towns garage sale . we sold a bunch of stuff cause my mother in law lives there . i walked around for miles and hit many many sales . bought 5 things , one was a dollar , all the rest were a quarter , including a BOSS CE-2 chorus pedal !!!!!
i saw it and go "how much?" the lady laughs and goes , "a quarter? i dont even know what it is ! ha ha haaa . "
i gave her the quarter and started running , her husband came bookin out of the house and just glared at me . oh well thats what you get for not pricing your shit . my wife went on ebay for most of our stuff . also counted all the puzzle pieces on at least 20 of em . one said 108 but it had 112 , she recounted it 4 times and put it together , the count was off on the box , fuck em .
25 cents for a vintage boss ce-2 , shit they are like 180 on ebay .
going back tomorrow for a pa horn , a siren , and a bike generator , if they are still there ill talk em down . they had a ps2 guitar hero controller for 2 bucks , i might mod it to usb if its still there , but i doubt it .

Re: highlight of your day?
Whenever we have yard sales. we have everything on our tables prices.
then we have like all the clothes together and a $.25 each sign by them
boxes of books with $.25 signs taped on them.
and odd & ends crap in boxes with $.25 signs taped on them.
we're cheap with our prices..cuz we want to get rid of everything. and what doesn't sale and there's not enought for a sale the next weekend..we just donate to a local place.

Re: highlight of your day?
aint it though . i had went thru and reduced quite a few prices on our stuff and we sold a lot of it . most of the other sales where crazy , a vette clock , 50 bucks . a SHITTY ancient cb with no PA or weather band , 50 bucks . used jeans , 20 , eyeliner , 10 . an old power washer 220 ! i really should be there today , but i just couldnt do it again , i got sunburn , and needed rest .
we sold our old giant tv (10) and stand (10) ! had a lot of lookers on the barbie deluxe dream house (30) but no takers . i had a thinkpad dvd burner drive for 10 (new) but most of these folks werent the laptop type ! the best was this , we have needed a dishwasher for a year . i fixed ours before , it finally crapped out . the landlord had gotten us an ac . and then ac and stove for the unit upstairs so he blew us off!
there were at least 4 dishwashers there , all 50 bucks ! this one sale had one for free ! the lady was cool and swore it worked . we shall see . my buddy owes me a favor , he is going to install it later . crosses fingers .
i really want that sucker to work , for my wife and kids sake , they work hard enough around here .

I hope it works too. we don't have a dishwasher at my house and it doesn't bother me cuz I'd rather wash them by hand. but my mom...it kills her to not have one.

Busted a little girl trying to shop lift a fur real pet lamb from my garage sale!!

I saw her over by the stuffed animals we were selling and then I saw her squat down and pick something up real quick and put it into a plastic shopping bag that she had been carrying- and then she started looking around all paranoid. She just had her bag lying on the driveway next to year. So, I got up and just waltzed on down there and kinda glanced at her bag and she was all "this is my stuff" and as I got closer to the bag, I reached in and grabbed my daughter's fur real lamb with my price tag on there and said "well, this is my daughter's little lamb that is for sale here and you did not buy it"
Little brat got up and walked away across the street to join up with her family who either had no clue what their little kid was up to or for all I know, they approve of this and probably taught her how to do it. This was a town wide garage sale and who knows how many other places she already ripped off. The kid was probably 8 years old ??? -starting em young I guess. Who knows what kind of criminal acts she'll be committing by the 5th grade!

HOLY SHITBOMB!!!!
Ventura County fire burns 6,000 acres; caused by spontaneous combustion of manure
September 22, 2009
A Ventura County wildfire fueled by powerful winds and extreme heat has burned more than 6,000 acres and was bearing down on populated areas in Moorpark and surrounding communities.
More than 400 residents have been evacuated and that number is expected to rise as the fire continues to move south toward the 118 Freeway. Pets and livestock are being moved to the Ventura County fairgrounds.
The Ventura County Sheriff's Department said the fire started through "manure spontaneous combustion from a local ranch."
Officials did not disclose exactly where the fire started or how. But spontaneous manure fires are fairly common in farm communities, often occurring during conditions of extreme heat. Temperatures around where today's fire started near Fillmore topped 100 degrees, with wind gusts topping 50 mph.
