After seeing the origional- there's no way it could even hold a candle to this

I've wanted to see Grey Gardens for six years now and my video store that has cult films finally got a new copy [the origional was stolen]

Yeah.
Just all kinds of dumb. I appreciate the work gone in to the set pieces and visuals from an aesthetic POV but the story-telling and characterisation was shoddy.

I give up on Michael Bay as a film maker. I rarely say that about anyone from popular culture, I give everything a chance and find amusement in a variety of produce, much to my own detriment, unfortunately. But as time goes on, I am learning to stay with favourites.

The International had a damn fine shootout scene in it. Damn fine. The rest of the movie wasn't nearly as gripping. But well-crafted, nonetheless. Corny writing, excellent direction.

Oh yeah, I saw "Frost/Nixon" too recently.
Very good.
Actor's film.
It doesn't grow far from it's theatrical roots.
Sheen needs to do some original charactors now.

I watched Zombie Strippers last night.

Excellent script, beautiful cinematography and an acting tour de force.

I can't believe there was the slightest doubt in any of your minds
that Transformers was going to suck big hairy balls before plunking
down hard cash to see it. Now you've just helped encourage these
assholes to keep going with the franchise.

i didn't pay for it.
but i have to admit, i was morbidly curious. i wanted to know how bad it could be.
one thing that really bothered me (besides the blaxploitation bots, the mindless plot, that doofy kid saving the world, the poor dialogue, the horrid jokes, the deep meaningful destiny bullshit, the comic relief charecters, etc.) was the unltra high-def, slo-mo shots of megan fox where you can see every skin cell and hair follicle. i'm sorry, but tits just don't look good swinging from side to side with that much detail in slow motion.

Recently watched Going Down Under, the American distrobution of the never released Australian film Meat Pie.

I'd put it up there as the most atrocious film I've ever seen. It is crass, racist, sexist, and offensive in pretty much every imaginable way. It is also almost entirely sans a script to speak of. The sole reason I was waiting for it's release was for Ed Kavalee, and the payoff is more than I expected. Everyone needs to see this film, I think you'll love it as much as I do. Try to be off your face when you do though. It helps a lot.

Sometimes these films work well (Dark Knight),
Sometimes they totally suck (The Mummy 2, Wolverine - I've heard)
This time it was somewhere in between - it looked great, but was polluted with silliness.

And anyway, entertainment makes jobs. Cynic.
