always wanted to hear this . if you have a dvd with dvd audio or dts , and a surround sytem / home theater setup you can get these now .
i my case i have a 4 channel sound card with 4 speakers , i use vlc media player so it just worked . i have a nice front set with a sub , and some real good monitors with a kenwood amp for the rear . i scrounged a coupla old turtle beach sound cards with 4 outs , and a 5th that is configurable via the control panel . really cool .
any way i found this link to a download of 2 songs , its really cool .

One of my favourite albums was played quadrophonic live and was the first ever DVD album release. You might be able to pick up the DVD or SACD which are both quad/surround (you can switch off the centre and sub for true quad).
I'm not techie enough to do what you've done (that's simply remarkable) so I've aquired the setup below which is basically entry level to mid range.
Tv: Panasonic TX-P42G10
Amp: Onkyo TX-SR506
Pre Amp: CAMBRIDGE AUDIO 640P
Turntable: Rega Planar 3 via the above pre-amp.
DVD/CD: Denon DVD-1940
Minidisc (yes Minidisc): Sony MDS-JB930
Speakers: 2 x wharfedale 9.1 (left and right) 2 x JPW 510i Millennium (rear) 1 x Tangent Evo (centre) 1 x EPOS ELS SUBWOOFER (Sub).
Xbox 360 setup via HDMI direct to TV and via toslink to amplifier (5.1).
DVD setup via stereo phono and toslink to amp. HDMI to TV.
PS2 just plonked there, who gives a damn.
Wii - plain ole scart - not connected to the amp.
Sky Digital...toslink to amp, scart to TV - not got Sky HD yet.

i discovered some "dolby 2 quad headphone" mixs of wywh and dsotm , they are sposda be simulated quad but you need to wear cans to listen to them properly . they sounded meh on speakers , but fantastic on my sony mdr 7506 cans . i cheated and eq'ed a smily face .
they are different mixs , there is some stuff you do NOT hear at all on the normal versions , for the most part these mixs make the material sound way better , a few things bothered me , the synths in "any colour" were way too loud .
not sure who did these , if these are the alan parsons mixs , that have been converted into a headphone format . i read that the band did not aprove of the A.P. dsotm mix . i know there are newer 5.1 sacd mixs that are sposda be sweet .
this is getting a lil bit much . in time i will end up with a bunch of versions .
i cant tell you how cool the dts quad sound is on the nillsson tracks i got is .
has anyone ever tried this ?
