Mel Brooks (in general)

Yeah so anyway, I watched Space Balls with my missus last night (or half of it at least) and I came to the incredible realisation that Mel Brooks is possibly the most unfunny man to have ever made a movie… or series of movies.
I remember kids running around the schoolyard quoting Space Balls dialogue and thinking that it was a hoot, but my memory is obviously crazy. Compared to his Monty Python contemporaries (who have some serious low points themselves) Mel Brooks’ portfolio consists of a series of cinematic turds.
His own (self-portrayed) characters are all tired, repetitive, obvious celebrations of Jewish quirkiness. Bearing witness to the pregnant pauses as he and the other characters deliver their punchlines directly to the camera is just…. painful.
Anyway, this may all be really [/obvious], but I just wanted to share my disgust with you all. Anyone who finds Mel Brooks funny should be neutered and enslaved in some kind of underground concentration camp.
Cheers.
