i havent seen pink flamingo yet.. i missed it at the globe theatre a few months ago im thinkin of ordering it through the net. ive only seen about 4 or 5 of his movies.

I bought it in a double pack with Female Trouble some time back. Also awesome. PF has the great bonus interviews / making of thing they always show when it runs at the Astor Theatre.

Pink Flamingos was the greatest film ever made, at it's time
It doesn't hold up as well but if you can appreciate when something for when it came out then you'll be in heaven

My parents went to see Divine in concert when he/she came out in the 70's. At the Corner Hotel. She mimed the whole show. They say it was brilliant.

No, def not all shock value. It's mostly the fact that it was just done on such low budget and (though shocking) was mostly doing something not done before. It's more hilarious than gross.
And remember, she doesn't really eat the dog shit. She actually just chewed it and spat it out.

My last apartment used to be a hotel and Divine stayed there for a week in the 80's
