Just finished Idoru. So-so; Gibson is very overrated.

Idoru isn't one of his "important" works. I read All Tomorrow's Parties, which is supposedly the third part in the "Bridge" trilogy, and that is much weaker than the early "Sprawl" stuff. I don't know if it'd be worth revisiting for you, but Neuromancer, Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive are better.

Yeah I'll try some Asimov, but unless Gibson talks about something other than 'virtual' reality, I'm not really interested. Virtual reality=emperor's new clothes. Nothing is 'virtual'...it's all physical matter in the end.
