Saw this. Wasn't bad. Based on the Raymond Carver short story "So Much Water So Close to Home". Tried to be a bit too Wolf Creek in parts. Should've ditched the psycho after he done his deed and focused on the representations of flawed machismo, which could've been a little less one-sided and ham-fisted.

This movie would be great for chicks who hate men.

Two fists and a borg.

Dude, two (Australian) films you should be very careful about watching with a new girlfriend: Lantana and Alexandra's Project.

Do it. Truly bizzare. You'll end up saying "pizza for cat" randomly, like the best of them.

Fun fact: 32 different DPs

Same director as Alexandra's Project (mentioned above).

It seems a bit cheap. Not with regards to budget, but with regards to shock tactics.

It's better than that.

Would you have to buy it to see it?

by Eviltoastman
Yes. Or I could download it as AVI and burn it as a VCD (dvd rip)...but I have RV downloading.

We may be able to come to some sort of an agreement on this. One that may see you getting the bonus disc as well.

Sounds like a cross between Gummo, Chopper and Man Bites Dog.

Jindabyne: I dunno what they added to it, but I've heard it said it's a bit too long. So much of the story (and indeed all of Carver's) is just in the emptiness and emotional distance all the characters have, giving emphasis to their internal struggles etc. Much like Lantana (Svetlana In Slingbacks) did.

Bad Boy Bubby: Hrn, It's really in a league of it's own I'd be reaching if I said it reminded me of any one thing in particular. For all the shock in it, Bubby is a pretty wholesome protaganist. And the bonus DVD is a must watch, great interviews and insights. I loved that thing with with the expanding room in the first sequence and Binaural recording tickles me pink.

Now to track down Ghosts of the Civil Dead.

I wish they would release Ghosts of the Civil Dead over here.
I've only seen it once on a shitty VHS copy.
I was also drunk.
