I also preferred Howl...not to take anything away from Spirited Away.

Haven't seen Howl yet.
I'll give that a try when ever it comes on.

Severance - Meh.
Gone Baby Gone - I really liked this. Affleck can do good after all.
Funny Games (US) - Not as good as I expected. I've had the original for years but never watched it. Why I put this on before that one is one of God';s great mysteries. Anyway wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be. I guess I have very high expectations of Hanneke now.

I prefer Spirited Away over Howl's. I found the ending of Howl's rushed. "Let's end this silly war"
Nearl: Where's Babar?
X-tacle: He's in the shower.
Nearl: No he's not! Elephants take showers with their noses!

Watched Giant and Papillon.
Lovely stuff.

I've got to thank HD and DVRs for making me watch this stuff.
And rewatching my favorite kid movies. Karate Kid, Jaws, ET.

Thanks, cable! And go fuck yourself for the price of it.

Started watching John Addams
First time I can remember where Paul Giamatti played something besides Pigvomit. Great watch so far but it's a little sappy for my tastes.

I'm all "enough with the speeches"

Also, what is up with HBO and being tarred and feathered?

Although the movie itself was only so-so, I loved Giamatti's performance in The Illusionist.
