it is.
He's really redeemed himself since those outback steakhouse commercials.
I also enjoyed Tongan Ninja a great deal. It was goofy, in an almost cute sort of way. That one was compared to Kung Pow: Enter the Fist, only because they were both parodies of martial arts movies.
Now that i think about it, Eagle vs. Shark was probably compared to Napoleon Dynamite because the protagonists is both of those were nerds, and the plot of both flicks was not for them to overcome their nerdiness to become cool or accepted by the popular people. or something. yeah.

the daughter cracked me up.
If you want awkward romances, this could be an interesting one for you. How's that?

It's got:
- a midget orgy
- a mutant with one eye in the centre of his head who can squirt mucus up to 100 yards
- heaps of gas explosions
- 14 minutes of closing credits
- borgs

In the deleted scenes there is a bit with the daughter that is the funniest part in the movie- the one where she's talking into the shoe

yeah! she was just such a goofy kid.
I understand why they deleted some of the scenes, like the ones that made him look more jerky than he needed to be, but they should have left in a bit more of the little girl.

Overall i didn't mind it. Had some good classic Indy moments, but also equally shit moments eg. swinging on vines with CGI monkeys? Makes me think Lucas had too much to do with it...
the storyline has copped alot of shit but i thought it was good. Better to take a risk than stick with the same stuff...

Watched Teeth last night. Not without it's moments, but since watching Dellamorte Dellamore again last week I really only wanna watch funny / over the top horror anymore, fuck this Saw nonsense.
The scene at the gyno is great. It goes from being disturbing to utterly comical, her flailing around and him trying to 'shake her off', then the bloody fingers drop out and he screams "VAGINA DENTATA! VAGINA DENTATA!".
7/10

was the third one Rodriguez' bit? that was the only one I would care to watch again.
Though I did like the button on the end of the fourth one, mostly because I was so familiar with the source material (The Man From Rio, The Man From the South, et al)

Roth was shit if you ask me. I read somewhere that Steve Buscemi was supposed to do that role. He would have been a much better choice.
I agree with the rest of your post. All and all a pretty underrated movie.
