The guys above are quite right to criticise and at the same lament the wasted talent of Trevor Dunn, as his time on that release clearly could have been better used elsewhere. For all the lofty ideals of the artist, the chef and musician, if they do not meet the expectations of or fail to connect with AN AUDIENCE and rely solely on the opinion of their peers, they will go hungry. They all need to put their shoulders to the wheel if the want to survive, which is a sad fact for many of them, but it's true.
Of those artists above, many have found an audience and are flourishing, this does not preclude them from being judged. Peer review outside of academia the sciences is largely unimportant.
I have read your statement and totally agree. Except, I think if you gave the same bands or any for that matter to a bunch of romper room kids or a room full of handicapped retards to judge them it would not be thought of as valid criticism. So, I guess, I shouldn't have said talentless although you all are. I should have said what you retarded dumb-fucking useless pigeon shits you are and have no business judging something that you can't comprehend. That would be like asking Trevor Dunn to judge you riding / crashing a bike, pillowbiter to pick a great snotty booger (Are there prizes for licking windows on a short bus?), Crotchsucker to get the most denials from a girl asked out (Guiness book is for you pal), mr. buttfuckers favorite sack juggling performance (
