Watched Coraline in 3D last night. Loved it. Interesting score.

'the wrestler' wasn't that great of a movie, considering you could map out the entire movie within the first 7 minutes

rourke was A+ of course
and marisa tomei naked = 8)

Watched Sex Drive.   I give it 3 laughy faces. I laughed, alot. I kind of enjoyed it. Yet I am very disappointed in myself that I enjoyed it. I thought I wasn't suppose to.

Watched Zac and Miri make a porno. :? :? I give it two smirky faces. It's the best thing Kevin Smith's done in 10 plus years (since Chasing Amy) however it still pretty much fell flat. Jason Mewes is so much better when he doesn't play Jay. So much. Some bad casting in this one but there is always a lot of bad casting in Kevin Smith's movies.

'the aviator'

i'm coming around on dicaprio
the litmus test for acting: how long does it take for you to forget its the actor, if at all?
it was less than 5 minutes in this movie
and he looks nothing like howard hughes

I loved dicaprio ever since Gilbert Grape. Aviator was a great movie...although...Blanchett... :?

Whatever you say about Blanchett,
that scene where Ava Gardner is grooming Hughes is FANTASTIC.

There's a whole slew of great moments like that in it.

I only saw that movie once and remember she had her moments - I should probably watch it again.

In Aviator she is almost as annoying as Jennifer Jason Leigh in Hudsucker.

anyone trying to do katherine hepburn is going to come off somewhat as a ridiculous dana-carvey-esque caricature
she did fine

Cate Blanchett always does fine. I'll fight anyone who says otherwise, and then I'll fight their families too, and all their friends...

I thought Leigh did a great job recalling that 50s tough-as-nails His Girl Friday broad act. But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

I didn't say it wasn't annoying, I just thought her send-up/homage was pretty much dead-on.

I'll agree with you inasmuch as it's my least favorite Wes Anderson movie
but you gotta admit, the Bowie songs in Portugese are pretty great.
