Korn

Post by Grotocult »

So how's the new Korn?

I haven't bought it yet because the "deluxe" edition is $20 and I don't want to buy the other one without two songs that might be better than anything on the regular album.

The internet has evolved and devolved a great deal. I know, shocking to me too!

You could undoubtably hear the whole album on youtube. Or one might look into 'torrenting'.

Or, one mayhap, could, possibly, somehow forego the utterly painful process of listening to an album by Korn and listen to just about anything else.

I'm sure you've purchased some sort of limited edition collector's version of the album by now, but since you had the courtesy to respond, I will respond in kind. It's Korn, maaaan. They're not even funny anymore. At least Limp Bizkit's single had the total lack of class that signals enjoyment.

If only for the fact I could recite the chorus to friends just to watch their bemeusment.

Is the subject matter person X doesn't understand Jonathan Y and videoclip involves person X staring blankly at JY whilst he emotes emphatically? That's every clip either band has had in 10 years.

Do you know why they're called Korn? Because like sweetcorn, if you eat their music, when you shit it comes out the same.

And the letter K is "edgy".
"Bof."

Those flogs were actually so stupid, not only did they spell it incorrectly with a K. They got the letter "R" around the wrong way too.

There's a guy I know has an academic book on nu-metal called Satans Great Rage or something

The thesis is something about supercapitalism, whatever that is

anyway there's a chapter on Korn which gives considerable space and theoretical close reading of the rimming/corn episode

Oh and the new album sucks...horrible....

I heard a few songs off the album and i wasn't impressed at all. They've been on a downward spiral ever since Korn III.

Korn has been on a downward spiral since their first album, the only good one. Korn is a one-trick pony, much like the Deftones. Music like this is for the simple-minded. Continue on with ultra-grey mediocrity you proleterians.

I preferred Life is Peachy but yeah...when they went mainstream with Follow the Leader I was all like why they sound like Pearl Jam? That said the albums since all had 2/3 great songs each...up until Korn III when the quality really fell drastically.
So I agree with you to a point, but also with the poster above you.
