Went to see MSP on their tour of the god-awful Postcard From A Young Man lp on Saturday in Newport. Great show, never laughed so hard in my life.

I was thinking the same thing. Please elaborate Chris, you've been posting "tweet" style posts lately.
:(

I saw them last in 2008, they were in very relaxed, chatty form. Nicky gave us a skipping demonstration at the end of the gig.

First time I saw them was at T in the Park in 98 or 99. Nicky gave his bass and loads of broken drum kit parts away at the end of their set, then stood on stage, arms aloft, in drag, while 50,000 drunks Scots chanted his name over and over.

Legend.

Sensitive!
Was an MSP song playing when you had your asscherry popped?

As smell is strongly associated with memory I bet the smell of shit also gets you pretty emotional!

Consider yourself defeated.

The gig itself wasn't that funny, we just had a great time. which is unusual for anyone having a night out on Usk.

James was reminiscing on stage and said that it was hard to beleive that it seventeen years ago they first played the Newport Centre and he pointed to the spot where Richey was standing on their first show there saying that Richey stood "just there playing". Nicky corrected James by telling him that Richey and Nicky never used to even bother playing back then.

just out of curiosity, do you think Lifeblood is a horrible album?

No. I don't like it, but it's not horrible. I think it's average and uninspired just like the new album.

This video contains content from Sony Music Entertainment. It is not available in your country.

did they play the Nicky song from the new album? that's about the only Nicky song i can listen to without skipping it. which is a shame 'cause Bag Lady is a great song so i always fast forward William's Last Words to get to it.

They've had a new album since Journal For Plague Lovers. I quite enjoyed that album but Postcard From A Young Man is dire.

Nicky sings The Future Has Been Here Forever and has a few parts in Some Kind Of Nothingness.

They only played a copuple of songs from Plague Lovers and nothing from Send Away The Tigers.

i meant, did they play The Future Has Been Here 4 Ever live? and then i went off on a tangent about William's Last Words being a sucky song. sorry i confused you.

i love Journal overall. it was kind of disappointing that they didn't play much from it when they played here last year. hopefully James doesn't fuck up his throat any more so they can tour US next year.

It's Not War makes me cringe every time i hear it. it was like when i first heard A Design For Life. i've listened to Postcards enough now that i've gone back to listening to random older stuff. Know Your Enemy's been in my car for the past couple weeks. that one's got to be the most inconsistent album i've heard from any band.
