According to Metalunderground.com, rumor has it that the reunited alternative metal legends Faith No More might be gearing up for a new studio album in the near future. No further details are available at this time. This would be their first album of new material since 1997's "Album Of The Year." No release date for the new album has been given, nor is it known which label would handle it.

Faith No More will release "The Very Best Definitive Ultimate Greatest Hits Collection" on June 8 in the U.K. via Rhino Records.

This double disc set contains the band's greatest hits on the first CD, while the second CD will feature b-sides and rarities.

Faith No More rehearsed on March 4, 2009 for the first time in over 10 years, according to a Twitter update by the group's bassist, Billy Gould.

So far, no North American appearances are on the radar, but according to Gould, "U.S. shows are not out of the question."

As speculated, original guitarist Jim Martin will not be part of the reunion. Performing in his place will be Jon Hudson, who played with Faith No More during the latter stages of its initial run after Martin departed.

The rest of the band's best-known lineup — singer Mike Patton, Gould, drummer Mike "Puffy" Bordin and keyboardist Roddy Bottum — will be intact.

2nd disk better be actual rarities and not just "anything really nice we could find that you can get elsewhere or have"

Did anyone else enjoy the Fawlty Towers documentary/commemoration that recently aired on GOLD?

The only real rarity I saw on there that would be new to any of us is "Sweet Emotion" from that kerrang flexidisc way back around the time of the real thing, I think.

That song alone does indeed interest me... i've only heard a really bad mp3 of it for years and years. Bring on the quality!

I believe I have a valuable update for this story: a known record label exec, who I cannot name, and who has no connection whatsoever with the band, says that IF FNM made a new record, it would be a while.

How's Buzz Osborne taking this news?

Doesn't he want M. Patton's dick all to himself?

Post random stuff like that on Twitter, the sad fucks will run with the story. The MetalHammer and Kerrang stories about the new tour dates came from the FNM 2.0 blog, who got the dates from my twitter, who got them from here. Who says journalism is dead?

We need to start some bullshit for Kerrang to run with. C'mon guys, we've been bullshiting here for nearly ten years...we have the manpower and the experience.
