That's so funny to me that the guy playing Rorschach (who was super creepy in Little Children, incidentally) was the teen heartthrob in those old-school Bad News Bears movies.

Are you complaining about the movie all ready?

This is my favourite from these posters:

so, id never read this, and i got caught up in it over the weekend
read one chapter and couldnt put it down
fucking *wow*... i might read it again

now, about this movie
ever since hollywood shifted into this 'ALL SUPERHERO MOVIES ALL THE TIME' mode
ive been less and less concerned about 'staying faithful to the comic' or whatever
as a kid, i was an x-men fanatic and was completely distraught as to how they handled the movies, in every way
there used to be this big sense of finality or something, like 'theyre FINALLY making a movie of it, so they HAVE to get it right! this is their ONE CHANCE!'
i think part of that mentality came from comics/graphic novels being overlooked and underappreciated as storytelling devices and as an art medium and all that
but now, i just dont care anymore... i guess the x-men stuff just made me not give a shit
you know what? go nuts, make it some dumb action movie, throw in lots of explosions, invite billy corgan along, give some dudes some rubber molded abs, whatever

what exactly did you read?

I'd hazard a guess and say it was Watchmen.

so because im really bored and feel like nerding out a bit
im going to slightly contradict this and do some fantasy casting:

rorschach - willem dafoe
ozymandias - cary elwes
nite owl - phillip seymour hoffman
dr manhattan, pre accident - dunno
dr manhattan, post accident - should be entirely CGI
comedian - stallone?
silk spectre - selma blair

I'm assuming you mean Nite Owl II and Silk Spectre II. Good choices overall. I'm trying to picture Stallone in a moustache, and I think it could work.

thought the book was really dull and tiresome
shitty art didn't help none

Ummm... why did they use the Pumpkins song from Batman and Robin? Is that, like, irony or something? Discuss.
Weird choice, but a cool song. (The original that is. Not this remix).

Movie looks cool as well. Ive not read the comics yet.
I know nothing about Watchmen, but that trailer with that music gave me an Underworld/Matrix/X-Men feel. Am I in the right ballpark?

Another trailer:

The acting looks to be pretty flat and Rorschach's voice is already annoying. Yay.

that sounds like christian bale's batman voice, but worse

Umm... Is anyone still looking forward to this?

If so, this might be "nail-in-the-coffin" type material:
