so, id never read this, and i got caught up in it over the weekend
read one chapter and couldnt put it down
fucking *wow*... i might read it again
now, about this movie
ever since hollywood shifted into this 'ALL SUPERHERO MOVIES ALL THE TIME' mode
ive been less and less concerned about 'staying faithful to the comic' or whatever
as a kid, i was an x-men fanatic and was completely distraught as to how they handled the movies, in every way
there used to be this big sense of finality or something, like 'theyre FINALLY making a movie of it, so they HAVE to get it right! this is their ONE CHANCE!'
i think part of that mentality came from comics/graphic novels being overlooked and underappreciated as storytelling devices and as an art medium and all that
but now, i just dont care anymore... i guess the x-men stuff just made me not give a shit
you know what? go nuts, make it some dumb action movie, throw in lots of explosions, invite billy corgan along, give some dudes some rubber molded abs, whatever

I know nothing about Watchmen, but that trailer with that music gave me an Underworld/Matrix/X-Men feel. Am I in the right ballpark?Thunder Bear";p="969981 wrote:Weird choice, but a cool song. (The original that is. Not this remix).[Viperfish]";p="969377 wrote:Trailer is online:

Ummm... why did they use the Pumpkins song from Batman and Robin? Is that, like, irony or something? Discuss.
Movie looks cool as well. Ive not read the comics yet.

Another trailer:

The acting looks to be pretty flat and Rorschach's voice is already annoying. Yay.
