Gunners to unleash 'The Beast'
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger feels it will not be long before the club's new 'killer' frontman Julio Baptista is giving defenders across Europe a hard time.
The 24-year-old Brazilian joined the Gunners from Real Madrid on loan in a transfer deadline day deal, which took Jose Antonio Reyes in the opposite direction.
Wenger has so far utilised the powerfully-built forward from the bench - but believes it is only a matter of time before the South American is pressing for a regular place in the Arsenal starting XI.
"It is more adaptation to the pace of the game and the movement here - intelligence wise he has no problem, quality wise he is a big player," the Arsenal boss said.
"He is massive and he looks like a boxer. When you see his body, he does not have fat at all. He is muscular and is in the gym every day. He looks after himself and takes care of his body."
"Once he is on his run, nobody can stop him, with that penetrative power," Wenger declared. "Once he is running with the ball, you just feel this guy cannot be stopped. He is a killer once he is in front of goal."
Wenger has long been an admirer of Baptista, and tried to sign him when the player moved from Seville to Madrid during the northern summer of 2005.
Arsenal have the option to make the move permanent, with Baptista - nicknamed 'The Beast' - already a favourite among supporters.
"In my opinion, it will be done. We have a delay before we have to make that decision," Wenger said. "It is not only us, it is him as well. Whether he wants to stay in London or not."
Wenger believes Baptista's best position is just 'off the striker, coming from deep' and has every confidence the player can kick-start his career at the Emirates after seeing chances become limited at the Bernabeu.
"Real Madrid had congestion of players who could play central, then their game went automatically through [Zinedine] Zidane, Raul, Guti...they had Ronaldo up front," the Gunners boss explained.
"It was more difficult for him to find some space central, but that is where his strength lies. Whatever they say about him at Real Madrid, Baptista scored seven goals having started 15 games."
"His scoring record is fairly impressive. I expect him to adapt quickly."

At who's expense will this be?
This needs to be re-worked to also take Gallas into account:

After seeing and touching that top, it is Navy. Obsidian? Lying fuckers
I got the new home shirt on Saturday, most comfortable football top I've ever bought. I got a size smaller than I usually wear and it still has bags of room too.

Flamini has told Wenger that he will not put on an Arsenal shirt to play any defending role.
Eboue can't track back. He's got too much seed in his sack. Maturity will cure this. Lauren is a far, far better defender and a far better full back.
Clichy is better than Hoyte.
Senderos is good, but Gallas is probably the best centre back in the premiership right now. Him and Toure will be granite.
Van Persie can't play if Henry plays. This leaves an option to play Baptista as the main attacking midfielder, Gilberto as the anchor and Fabregas in the centre pulling the strings. Ljunberg is hitting form again and although I rate Hleb, the fucker is too shot-shy. We need Ljunberg and Rosicky contributing if we're going to do well.
With the 451 turning 433 in attack and the full backs supporting fully, we'll be an attacking force and a defensive headache for the opposition.

That's pretty funny.
My wife likes the ladies training jacket too, but she'd probably want to remove the gunners patch if she could.

For shame.

Arsenal read this thread it's official.
Well, Hleb does anyway. See his goal last night. One day I'm saying he's shot shy, the next he's taking eleventy shots on goal and scores a cracker. I say Eboue doesn't track back and gosh darn it he goes and does that too.
Careful boys, the potential to burn the ears of the young is with us.

Thanks for the offer, but I could probably find something on eBay, or just wait...
I was thinking exactly that with Hleb's goal on the highlights. Of course you don't see much tracking back in highlights.Namothy";p="805021 wrote:Arsenal read this thread it's official.
