the book was written before Lost in Translation, but you're pretty much right.

I don';t mind which cam first. I just have a reference point (Lost In Translation). What would be useful is if someone came up with a reference point then someone else who might have seen the films compares the two looking at similarities and differences. I think this thinking is too avant garde though.
