Minorities get a raw deal, but many white folks do to.

Here it's much the same, except a lot of the time it's a matter of cultural dependancy, a lack of effort or a will to succeed. In Wales which has a much more dilute ethnic blend in it's society see's the valleys in particular being the most deprived areas, havingthe highest sickness and unemployment levels per head in the UK. People in these kinds of areas are often parts of extended families who have through time abandoned their ancestral hard working industrial past and become over reliant on the state benefit system using it as a crutch and often use the soft influx of migrant workers are an excuse. Merthyr is a great example (search "Merthyr sickness").

In America, I've often read that the fear of cultural dependence is one of the main reasons behind it's retarded welfare prigram, but there is evidence that these programs if full developed can in some instances lead to a culture of dependence as seen in council esatates (projects and ghettos) in the UK.

Many UK and American liberal academics argue that this is not the case. In Britain, where common philosophy is not too different and value systems are almost interchangeable with that of your American, I feel offers a very accurate model of what America could expect. However they could look to our very successful back to work policies, offering government assistance to those who accept the shitty end of the stick. The really low paid work, especially those who have children. This incentive in place of unemployment or sickness benefit has worked well in the UK, with only the current recession stunting it's growth.

I'm not too sure how unemployment and poverty issues are handled on the continent.

Actaully... you may be right Marie. I'm hoping so now. Late November through January. If that happens I wonder if they will do a New Years eve show and where?

Actually... you may be right Marie, so we should stop them now. I'm hoping they never tour the US, so I can watch Americans go nuts. Late November through January. If that happens I wonder where I will celebrate seeing FNM this year, when Americans can't at New Years eve or wherever?

Ok.
I saw Faith No More in my home town this year, this summer, just a month ago, almost to the day. I met loads of nice people, some of whom have passports and can travel abroad to see bands and had a great time.

Our taxi driver to the venue, recognised the band name from my description and told me how he had Roddy in his car the night before, right down to the hotel used by the band and where they went to dinner.

I bought two-shirts, took some photographs and videos and even got the skinny on why the band got back together from a friend who met them personally.

Is that enough?
:D

Seeing as how they are on break, they are probably having a party in your mouth.

This is the best official news since they announced a reunion! I'm still hoping for some dates mid-Nov to mid-Dec.

I wonder if they are planning a New Years eve bash? Maybe too late in the game now, but maybe.

They played on my birthday this year, I even met the whole band and had breakfast with them (they were staying at the same hotel), had a picture with Patton (really crappy one though) and the show later was fucking amazing. coolest bday - for real, I wish you a similar experience on your birthday

You can get a USA passport same day. The offices take applications and paperwork from 8:00am-11:30am and then you come back between 2:30pm-5:00pm and pick up your shiny new passport!

I saw the FNM shows in Edinburgh(good) and Dublin (GREAT) this last August.
