Wonderful and informative documentary about the good doctor Hunter S. Thompson, narrated by Johnny Depp.
Decent documentary about gang wars in LA, narrated by Forest Whitaker. Basically the story behind the Crips and the Bloods. Slightly boring towards the end.
Directed by Stacy Peralta, former pro skater and member of the legendary Z-Boys team. I really enjoyed his previous documentary called "Dogtown and Z-Boys".
Meet Acrassicauda, the only heavy metal band in Baghdad. This documentary is about the hard life as a heavy metal musician in Iraq. Good stuff!
Directed by Suroosh Alvi, one of the founders of Vice Magazine.
Inspired by the success of Super Size Me. SHM does for marihuana what SSM did for McDonald's.
Great soundtrack as Jeremy said. A couple of funny moments here and there, but not what I would call a very good documentary.
David Lynch - One Night Stand
Pretty cool and exclusive presentation of new projects by David Lynch, presented by his producer, Jon Nguyen. Nguyen put together a selection of rare material, of which one (Interview Project) was a world premiere.
Interview Progect is a collection of interviews with completely unknown people put together by Lynch to evoke a decidedly lynchian atmosphere.
David Lynch's Cooking Show: ... is just what it sounds like. Weird as fuck.
LYNCH2: The follow-up to LYNCH which is a behind the scenes of INLAND EMPIRE. I wasnt crazy about that film, but behind the scenes stuff is always cool, especially when you get to see directors and actors that you like.

You'd like it. I also recommend the Gonzo documentary. Even if you dont like Hunter. If you like drugs (which I know you do) and guns, this thing is right up your alley.stripperm(0)(o)m";p="990192 wrote:I really want to see the Heavy Metal in Baghdad

I saw "Body of Lies" and "Burn after Reading" in the states.
Body is a contemporary War on Terror thriller by numbers that was enjoyable, if you like clever espionage movies. Leo does a good job, but Mark Strong steals it, looking like an evil Andy Garcia. Russell Crowe is just a bastard, which he literally phones in, everyone else conforms to Bourne/Middle Eastern Terror/Clancy novel sterepotypes.
Burn is amusing, in a "these people are dumb, look what they are doing lol" kind of way. Another expose of the ludicrous lengths people will go to to get what they want in life. Frances McDormand is the ying to her Fargo charactor's yang, Brad Pitt is a moron, Malkovich and Swinton are completely unlikeable, Richard Jenkins is underused but brilliant, Clooney chews everyone else off the screen with his womaniser/paranoiac and gets the best scenes. Oh and the secret service guys are funny too. Enjoyable also, with all the comedy coming from the vileness of the charactors.
