how did you figure out what it was ?Love Removal Masheen";p="983585 wrote:Fixed my Jeep. Thought it was the coil. Ended up being the Crank Position Sensor. Cost 5 days down, time, effort and $90 for part. If I were to have had it towed and serviced it would have been probably $400-$500.
i have used the internet and it has really helped find the oddball shit .

I did a fuel pressure test, although I new the Fuel Pump was priming and it seemed fine. I was not getting any fire. My buddy suggested the Coil. Cheap enough so, I bought that and tried to test it with an Ohm meter and got the same results from new ald original. I put the new one on anyway and nothing. The guy at autozone said he'd bet money it was the crank sensor and I didn't actually have a ignition module on this year Jeep.
All the research I did online with a Jeep forum with similar problems was:
Cam position sensor
Crank Position sensor
Ignition Control Module
Coil
Gotta love the internet.
I took his advise and bought the part. They said I could always bring it back. Put it on this aftrenoon and cranked right the F___ Up! Unbelievable how something like that can just go out on you.
I think this may be next

I bought the 1998 that I have in 2003 with 74,500 miles on it. In the past 5 years I've been to New York and Florida probably 20 times. Flying occasionally but I'd rather my company pay me mileage than fly. It has 144,000 on it now. The only thing I have had to fix is a radiator hose 2 years ago in the middle of summer. It has been a truly wonderful vehicle to me, but its getting time to think about upgrading.
