God, I hate the current use that word.

Anyway, the screenshots look ok. The movie really does bother me. The book was all inter textual references and subversions of the comic genre. Since it's being done by the 300 guy I'm pretty sure they'll be going down the action-superhero path, ignoring the aspects that made Watchmen so unique.

I had a few sentences typed out to try and summarise it, but I couldn't really give the thing proper justice. Give it a go on wikipedia, Rick. I'd suggest to anyone to give it a read in its intended form before the film.

Incidentally if you've disliked any of Alan Moore's work prior to this, don't let it affect your judgement. It's so different to all of his other work, and far better because of it.

I didn't realise Snyder was on this, but I'm keeping an open mind.

I think the look is pretty good. There's a couple more location shots here:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0409459/mediaindex

I haven't read it in a long time myself, Rick, but from what I remember it's pretty far departed from the genre, in a way. Visually, it's might be well described as understated? :???:

The 300 guy did a great job making the movie true to the comic, this might work out pretty well.

My Favorite Alan Moore was Watchmen and then his work he did for Swamp Thing

Plus I read half of From Hell and was pretty impressed

Ooh... And an RSS feed!

Apparently it's all ready "in the can". A year of post-production to go...

I just finished re-reading it. A lot nastier than I remembered.

Oh my god SPOILERS!

Well, if you want to see what they're doing with it, Hayter's script can be found here. The shooting script they're using is apparently the same, but with more fight scenes and an ending closer to the comic.

Ummm... why did they use the Pumpkins song from Batman and Robin? Is that, like, irony or something? Discuss.

Weird choice, but a cool song. (The original that is. Not this remix).

So they say. I will do it before the film comes out, just so that I can be one of those assholes claiming that the book was better.
