Dont bother with Dune. Its a waste of time. I like Mulholland Dr, Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man better than Eraserhead.judasmuppet";p="908283 wrote:I think Eraserhead is my favourite Lynch film.
Having said that, I need to actually finish watching Mulholland Dr., see Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man, and rewatch Dune.

Man, you are old!judasmuppet";p="908466 wrote:I remember Dune being awesome.
I went to the cinema to see it WHEN IT WAS RELEASED.
I even bought the comic book movie adaptation after the movie.
I wish I still had it. It must be worth, like, $4.25 now.
Maybe I would have liked it better if I had any relation to the book or whatever.

I nagged and nagged and nagged my dad to rent Dune when I was a nipper. He finally bowed and hired it for me, only for me to fall asleep five minutes in. I then lied and told my dad it was really really good. I;ve never actually seen the film, but the official line is that "I like it".

When I was a kid, I really liked Universal Soldier. What is my official line on that film today?Namothy Tsao";p="908851 wrote:I nagged and nagged and nagged my dad to rent Dune when I was a nipper. I finally got around to see INLAND EMPIRE yesterday. I liked it, but it's not my favourite Lynch film that's for sure.
It's a bit boring at times, lacks the typical Lynch humour, and has too many layers to my liking. I think this goes for all Lynch movies, but IE especially seems to be the kind of film one needs to see several times before grasping it. Either that, or I'm just stupid.

I like fragmented art, at least in literature, but I'm not used to it with Lynch, at least not to such an extent. I definitly need to see IE a couple of times more.Thunder Bear";p="924401 wrote:You are not stupid. Here is what Lynch himself said:
If you just make it up scene by scene, how can the movie have a coherent plot?
