Wha?

Lady in the Water - kinda cool, but spoilt by Giamatti's acting being too visible. Great camera work.

Daredeveil - Oh my fucking god what a piece of shit. Watched it for the sound design, which came recommended, and which didn't disappoint, but fer cryin' out loud that shit was awful.

Goal - Cheesy/watchable/dubious

Along Came Polly - unexpectedly non-shit. PSH puts in a solid performance. "Rain Dance!"

Instead of mentioning another film with Jennifer Aniston in it that I've seen lately, I'm going to say that I finally saw Blood Simple last night. An early and worthy contribution by the Coens.

It's an average film imo. And that's before you figure in that it's a Coen film.

Well, it doesn't stand as an equal alongside Millers Crossing, Big Lebowski or Oh Brother Where Art Thou, but as an early work I thought it was good.

I was thinking of it as a film outside their oeuvre. Along side those you mentioned it appears to be a poor film, which I don't really think it is.

I saw it (with the benefit of speculative hindsight) as them working on their chops.

Blood simple is rather mediocre.

Barton Fink, Big Lebowski, Fargo, Millers crossing. Great movies.

That's cool. I was going to ask you to send a copy of Pan's Labyrinth as well if you hadn't sent them yet, but I need to drag my arse into town to the cinema for that one methinks.

I bought three movies here the other day:

The Panic in Needle Park: I like drug movies. Good drug movies. Like Tranispotting, Fear and Loathing, Spun, Basketball Diaries, etc. Panic is good drug movie. I thought I had seen it before, but I was wrong.

Sling Blade: I like retard movies. Good retard movies. Like Forrest Gump, Gilbert Grape, Rain Man, Beautiful Mind, etc.. Sling is a good retard movie. Billy Bob is my hero. Nothing new in this film, and I find it weird that it won an Oscar for best writing (or whatever). But a pretty good film!

Bad Boys: (no, not the gay Will Smith movie, but the one with Sean Penn). Sean Penn is awesome, and this movie was okay.

Blood Diamond: DiCaprio is great as usual! I really enjoyed this film, even though it turned a bit hollywoodish some times.

The Prestige: Iam a sucker for magic, and I like Christian Bale. A good film, with a nice little twist at the end. The twist was also a bit gay. Also look out for plotholes..

I borrowed a friends xbox last week, and there were shitloads of films on it. Shitloads of shitty films. Doom, American Pie 4, Fear Dot Com etc etc...
I saw the ones that looked least shitty:

Enough: J-Lo beaten up by her husband, but trains to become a ninja to defend herself. Not the worst film Ive seen, and Juliette Lewis is in it

Dukes of Hazzard: I hate Jessica Simpson and that Stiffler guy, and I dont like "comedy". I had no reason to watch this movie, if it hadnt been for the fact that my life sucks. It sucks even more after watching it

The Cooler: Casino flick with William Macy. I really like that guy, but this movie was just too dumb. Its a really really stupid movie, yet somehow watchable. Perhaps it was because of Alec Baldwins nice performance?

Four Brothers: A remake of some shitty John Wayne movie I think... Its about 4 brothers (two black and two white  ) who returns to their hometown Detroit, to find out who killed their "mother". Did I mention that there are two black and two white guys?
I like Marky Mark, and Andre 3000 is cool, but they cant save this thing... If you like Boondock Saints, you will probably like this one too. Its better than BS, but just because its not trying so hard to be "cool" all the time...

Suprisingly there was this film called "Sånger Från Andra Våningen" there too. This is a little Swedish treasure, and a great and funny film! It reminded me of Jim Jarmusch films. Jarmusch is awesome, and so is SFAV. To quote miss Yvonne:
Every once in a while, it's great when things go on way too long. This is one of those times.
(she did not talk about this movie).

Sånger Från Andra Våningen... Songs from the Second Floor?

I just looked this up on Netflix.
