Somehow I knew I was gonna win when I first entered this contest, and now I realize it's because I said all this shit. Karma is a fucking bitch...

And yet by keeping it I'm a total hypocrite... don't you see the predicament this puts me in? It's probably just like some guy in some book I never bothered to read.

You're a different person now. The Jeff that said those things was someone else. Someone you soon won't be able to even relate to anymore. Therefore there is no hypocrisy.

Hello Jeff. We've never met, but now I shall take onboard your beer recommendations. What UK IPA would you recommend?
“There are two sorts of hypocrites: one that are deceived with their outward morality and external religion; many of whom are professed Arminians, in the doctrine of justification: and the other, are those that are deceived with false discoveries and elevations; who often cry down works, and men's own righteousness, and talk much of free grace; but at the same time make a righteousness of their discoveries and of their humiliation, and exalt themselves to heaven with them.”
An ounce of hypocrisy is worth a pound of ambition.
Hypocrisy is the lubricant of society.

Greene King.

---

I like Imperial India Pale Ale from Rogue, but that certianly isn't from the UK

I also like the IPA's from Dogfish Head & Flying Dog's Snake Dog IPA

I am getting ready for Gonzo Imperial Porter from Flying Dog right now.

I already drink Greene King. Had quite a few last week. I also got John Bull Premium Bitter which was really good. I had a glance at Ratebeer dot com nd found the rated beers I've already tried hammer the pallate. Where's the subtlety? There seems to be a leaning towards darker ales and stouts than IPA's and bitters. I think I'll go with my own judgement and experiment.

Trying to find out more about premium ciders though. More expensive than ale, even direct from the farms. It's a disgrace. I love Scrumpy Jack which is from a major brewery but it's a dying brand. Full of flavour - perhaps too sharp for most, but way more accessible and nowhere near as sharp as your standard scrumpy ciders.

Accidentally tasted a mature cheddar at one farm made with this really strong scrumpy (Mangled Cock it was called). Nearly puked my spleen up. Just as ginger cannucks shouldn't wear camo gear, scrumpy should not be part of the cheese making process.

I'm planning a trip to Belgium this autumn to visit some monestaries to get some beer. Can't wait for that. having problems contacting an old friend who owns/owned a brandy bar in Belgium (cannot recall the name of the bar or the town :(). Want to go though. Pick up some white beers while I'm there.

The best UK IPA I've had is Berkshire's Lost Sailor IPA, but that's not really available outside of Massachusetts even. Other than that, I don't know many... Sam Smiths?

I dislike web-beer-rating sites.

Are pale ales/ESBs called bitters over there?
I had a pretty decent ESB last night, actually.

Name some Belgium's you like.

I have had my share of PBR's

it's the hipster drink of choice in these parts.
In fact these kids throw a PBR prom every year.
It's just a party that you have dress for, and they have nothing but PBR
