Re: Tomahawk
Hell yeah I like this stone letter song. Not sure if I'll pick up the 7"... I guess it depends on availability

Their fourth album, 'Oddfellows' is due January 29
Alterna-metal insitution Tomahawk is returning early next year with Oddfellows, their long-awaited fourth album and first in six years. The supergroup (that's Faith No More barkjaculator Mike Patton, Jesus Lizard aggy-twanger Duane Denison, and Battles drummer John Stainer) have replaced bassist Kevin Rutmanis with the mighty Fantômas/Bungle/Madlove bassist Trevor Dunn, who has been dutifully blogging for us while hitting on the road on Melvins Lite's record breaking 51 States in 51 Days Tour. Oddfellows is easily Tomahawk's most diverse to date: There's groany, smoky, Morricone-jazz; there's twisty AmRep-gone-R&B bludgeon; and, most notably, there's the types of epic, majestic choruses that Patton diehards might remember from the final Faith No More LP, Album of the Year. You can check out first taste "Stone Letter" below, buy the Record Store Day 7" on November 23, download it on iTunes on December 4, or hear it live at one of these confirmed tour dates...
October 27 - Nashville, TN @ Exit Inn
October 28 - New Orleans, LA @ Voodoo Fest
October 29, - Memphis, TN @ New Daisy Theater
October 31 - Dallas, TX @ Granada Theatre
November 1 - Houston, TX @ Fitzgerald's
November 2 - Austin, TX @ Fun Fun Fun Fest

Re: Tomahawk
i dunno, they're pretty differenty. that leathers song seems a bit better than tempest but personally i enjoy the sound tomahawk is putting down more. when chino's describes deftones new album as full of aggression and soothing beautiful soundscapes bla bla... well, sounds more like he's describing that new tomahawk song to me. but i love this goddam place so much i'll check out that new deftones with new vigor

Re: Tomahawk
It's growing on me.
It's certainly better than anything Papa Roach have put out in the last decade.

Love it. Can't wait to see them tour again just to hear some of the indian songs.
Re: Tomahawk
I didn't like it upon first listen, but it's grown on me. I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of the album. I've missed Patton in rock mode, so it'll be nice to have some new stuff.

Classic Michael Scott/David Brent character jealous of something/someone the whole group likes.Hitman wrote:
We love that character though in all his incarnations. Modern Family's got a michael scott character. There's even a show here in Canada called "Mr. D" that's about a teacher with the michael scott characteristics.
What I'm saying is... Hitman, do you think the aussie Wilfred is better than the american Wilfred?
And you're michael scott.

But seriously, happy canadian thanksgiving.
I just got off the phone cancelling my appearance due to the contagiousness of this fucking flu. canadian flu.
Anyway have a good one, tell your families you love them.

I stepped back at first listen, but it is a rockin' track. Really looking forward to the release of the whole album.

Re: Tomahawk
cant wait for it to drop , of course the main thing i am looking forward to gets pushed back by a half a year after waiting how long for MP to do something more " heavier " than the recent crap .
amazing how well their music holds up , also the live stuff , its just top notch . so glad i saw em 4 times , hoping for much much more from them in the future ... after all , the " new " mike patton stuff , it doesnt cut the mustard for me , but thats just me , and what do i know .

the finished product is just the garbage left over from doing the work.
