Never really listened to Soundgarden, so I wont argue too much, but I believe that the award for "the most meh reunion" belongs to The Smashing Pumpkins.
Billy Corgan is now the only original member, and he is currently releasing his "44-song album", one track at the time, over the next five years. I hate to use those words, but that is probably the definition of an EPIC FAIL!

 x one billion!

Absolutely all reunions are shit btw. It will never be the same. Leave it dead.

Agree to a degree - when it's your fave band, or if you missed them first time around, it's fun as a fan to finally see them live. Pure sentimentality, nothing wrong with that. The FNM reunion proved me wrong for instance, so I'd go see Bungle if that came up.

And I enjoy going to any gigs, so if it's a band I liked back in the day, there's twice as much motivation/enjoyment.

However, if you're a cool hipster wannabe punk who lives their life by a set of rules, or code, then one of your rules might prevent you from enjoying yourself in this particular case.

Soundgarden have been working on new material as of late and have early plans to to make a new album this year. In a new posting titled “Our goal for 2011 – Let’s Make A Record” on the bands official website, they offered the following:

“Over the past few months, we’ve been busy jamming, writing and hanging out together – exploring the creative aspect of being Soundgarden. It feels great. We have some cool new songs that we are going to record very soon. Thank you for all of the support!

Loudest of Love,

Ben, Chris , Kim and Matt“

That shit is so short, kinda like...sharpie. Is it even in snippet category? I'd call it a sound byte.
