blue cheese dressing

Post by General Tso s Chicken »

i had some a few years ago that grossed me out so bad i gave it up .

i started using ranch dressing for hot wings , and salads .

recently i tried this marzettis bistro blue cheese , a lighter blue cheese flavor .

https://www.wegmans.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... tId=381176

this product is great , i really like it !

anyone have a similar recomendation ?

i really like to have hot wings once a week , with some celery , and french fries .

my wife deep frys the wings , then saute's em in margerine/luisianna hot sauce . very good!
the finished product is just the garbage left over from doing the work.

man, don't get me started on ranch dressing.
as far as blue cheese dressing goes, I haven't gone wrong.
bars/family restaurants make the best.
but yeah, portmann's select has been good to me lately.

I have too many teeth for ranch dressing.
I do love that marzetti blue cheese...
There is another similar brand that is good...
I'll let you know next time I am in the refrigerated dressing isle.

I also love mixing blue cheese dressing and hot sauce.

is that marzettis chunky or regular ?

i think maries changed their packaging to resemble marzettis more .

the stuff we used to get that grossed me out was in a smaller perfectly round glass jar with the label painted on in turqouiseish paint . we had been using it for a year when we got a new jar . the particular taste was very strong phormaldahyde / weird / nose hair curling vapor that was so nasty i opened the patio and threw the container about 30 feet in the air towards our dumpster .

i will have to look for the portmann's select , its not in the refridgerated section is it ? although a google search didnt turn up much on it .
the finished product is just the garbage left over from doing the work.

I'd never tried blue cheese or goats cheese for that matter until I recently went to France. they put either on everything. When you consider their bog standard all-purpose cheese is Emmental which is very mild, sweet and non-offensive and our her in the UK is mature cheddar, it's odd that I find the flavour of blue cheese and goats cheese too intense. On a standard French quatro fromagi pizza for example, exactly a quarter each of it is assigned one of the following cheeses. Blue cheese, goats cheese, mozerrella and monteray jack. Now the last two are fine, but in the quantities described, assigning 25% a piece to blue and goats cheese just made me a little sick. I did like blue cheese and goats cheese though and like the sound of this blue cheese dressing.

well like i said i have had it where this real pungeant strong mold like taste kicks your taste buds all the way up to your nasal passage . thats really unpleasant . this particular stuff "marzettis bistro style blue cheese" is much milder , it does hace small chunks of cheese , not too many at all , and they are very very mild .
i am telling you this stuff is really a treat . i had some red poppyseed dressing that was like a gourmet version of a western dressing . this stuff was amazing , like a sweet french , but not a reall artificial taste . it only works with a salad with a lot of onion , hardboiled egg , yellow cheese , plus croutons and bacon bits will push it over the top to salad main course territorry.
it goes well wityh pork or chicken , not so much red meat . like not corn but green beans , ya dig . man its good !

i really dig salads , gotta have some real butter , a roll , bread , crackers , anything .

just that i put so much crap on it , then eat a dinner a half our later , its really bad , like totally cancells out the concept of salad+good for you . this is the antisalad , carcinigeonatic/sweet/greasy/butter salad .MMMMM-Mmm , so good !

I don't know if it's bad for you, but I taste it. I don't really like bbq sauces that have it either. It's one of those pointless ingredients that just makes things worse imo, like modified corn starch or gelatin in yogurts.

As for salads, I used to love a cobb salad, when I still ate meat. That was something of an anti-salad.

Wikipedia says Cobb salad has
1. Lettuce (head lettuce, watercress, chicory, and romaine)
2. Tomatoes
3. Crisp bacon
4. Chicken breast
5. Hard-cooked eggs
6. Roquefort cheese
7. Chives
8. Special Cobb salad vinaigrette
Oh my it's awesome. I guess I could cut out the meats and go for it. I think I will.

I stole a simple blue cheese steak sauce from a friend the other day... Magnificent...

Get a fuck off big onion, chop it up and caramelise it in 4 tablespoons of butter, until it looks the way you'd like.
Pour in 300ml of heavy cream and simmer it until the colour of the sauce is equalised

Masturbate quietly in a toilet, whilst simmering if you are eating this sauce with friends as you will orgasm all over the place upon trying this if you haven't 'cleared the pipes' yet

THEN crumble about 150gms of blue cheese in and let it absorb into the rest of the sauce...

During all this you should have been cooking some T-Bones or rump steaks to medium rare perfection, then combine and you are set for bliss.

I probably should've said, with the quantities I indicated, that is a HEAP of sauce. Will comfortably feed 4 people with the appropriate steakage.

Saying that, this sauce will NOT keep. At all. Avoid saving and trying to reheat. I learned this the tough way.

I also dispensed with my microwave. I'm sure there's an adequate workaround. Ask General TSo and he'll tell you how to mod your Atari 2600 so that it will nuke that fucking blue cheese shit right up.
