NIN: Final eight farewell shows starting August 22nd

Post by [][][][][] »

Getting right to the point, we're going to play a handful of shows in NYC, Chicago and LA starting August 22nd. They will be informal affairs in medium to small venues with longer set-lists, possible special guests, cool openers and other surprises. Upon reflection, the NIN/JA tour felt like we had to rush through sets due to a limited allotted set length and many shows were in daylight - it just didn't feel right to end NIN that way. An offer to headline V-Fest in Toronto (being announced soon) set the idea in motion to play some FUN shows to end this up with. If we can get it together we'll film these shows, too.

In NYC we'll be playing Bowery Ballroom, Webster Hall and Terminal 5.

In Chicago, the Aragon Ballroom.

In LA we'll be at The Wiltern, The Henry Fonda, The Palladium and The Echoplex.

These should be cool, unusual and unique shows and I hope you come out - this is it. So far, The Horrors will be joining us for some shows in NYC, Mew will be with us at other shows in NYC, Chicago and LA, and perhaps more. Details and ticket info will be announced shortly, so check back.

Thanks,
Trent

Mew would be a cool opener. Probably better than Nails.

But that would be good - radio would play his stuff, instead of Jacko.

I'll for sure go to one of the LA gigs. Hopefully that's where he wraps it up. It would be cool to see the last NIN show.

They played T in the Park fest here in Scotland last night.
If the BBC covered it, they weren't saying when NIN were going to be shown.

They wern't shown on BBC3. :(
Hurt is available to stream from BBC3's website.
Absolute fucking joke. They showed all of Paolo Nutini's set about three times, but didn't show anything from NIN's set.

Seeing NIN in two days! :)

I've heard so much about nin lately, why? I can't say I've heard anything from them since 1997, what are some highlights of their more recent output?

Year Zero, Ghosts (all instrumental- really cool), and The Slip are all solid and worth checking out. You can download The Slip for free right at www.nin.com

And since you said you haven't heard anything since 1997, I'll throw The Fragile in there (I think that came out in '99). It's my favorite NIN album. Fucking epic.

does anybody know if all the tickets (presale & general) are being sold through nin.com only?
If you plan on purchasing presale tickets, please make sure you have entered your full legal name (as it appears on your ID) in your nin.com account.
does that mean the limit is one ticket per customer for presales? sorry to ask this here and not on the nin forum, but if i don't need to sign up for one more thing, then i won't.
