So Spurs by Mabbut, Hoddle and Lineker back, while Arsenal buy another midget attacking midfielder/creative striker.

What the fuck is wrong with the tea in North London?

That second Bendtner strike was great.
Think he knew that first touch was coming off his thigh?

Bendtner was fantastic last night and Arshavin was close three or four times. We looked better than we have recently, but lavender smells very sweet when compared to human faeces and isn't necessarily the best scent.

I'm exciting to see what happens on Sunday.
And I love Arsene's quote

"It is not ideal. Let's be frank, we asked to play on Saturday and we got an answer 'yes, you can play on Sunday'"

I told my brother last month the day Eboue scores 2 goals in a match is the day I die.
I must have meant two goals from open play.
Cause I'm still here goddamnit.

I kinda wanted Villa to beat Manchester.
But then I said fuck them.
I don't care who wins the title unless it's Arsenal.
And I like Champions League football. So it's us or them.

I can't wait to see Arshavin play for us in Europe.

I sent this to a Scouse in my work building:
Saying this link is safe unless you're at Anfield.

He said he no longer hopes for a Champions League victory for Arsenal.
Did I go too far, gentleman?

He did make a crack about Silvestre.
Asking if Liverpool signed him. As he was sure we did.

The bastard.

It was a brilliant result. Liverpool were without one first team player in (ermm) Gerrard (ermm), where we lacked Almunia, Gallas, Clichy, Sagna was clearly not fit, RVP has an injury and Adebayor was also injured, yet under a constant attack we lead into the 93rd minute.

Both teams were quite poor last night which lead to a great game of football.
Only Arshavin, Torres and Benayoun played well.

Arsenal Striker Bendtner Hits Back At Ibrahimovic 'Junior Team' Claims
The Dane thinks the Inter's striker's criticisms of the Gunners' transfer policy is way off the mark...
3 Jun 2009 20:14:40

Nicklas Bendtner has hit back at Inter forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic's claims to feel sympathy for Arsenal fans, because of the thrifty transfer policy of Gunners' manager Arsene Wenger, with the Frenchman preferring to keep the club on a sound financial footing by investing in youth rather than big-name stars.

"Just look at Arsenal. They don’t buy the best players, which is sad, very sad for their supporters," the Swede told Aftonbladet.

"They pay a lot of money for a season ticket just to see a junior team. That can't be fun."

However, Bendtner has responded forcefully to those claims, asserting that his manager knows exactly what he is doing, and has only the best interests of the north London club at heart.

“He is not correct. His words don’t make any sense at all," he affirmed to Danish newspaper B.T.:

"We could have performed better this season but we did reach the semi-final in the FA Cup and the Champions League. Further than his Inter side.

“We scored as many goals as Manchester United and that shows what we are capable of.

"And in the Premier League there’s so much competition because it’s the best league in the world. It’s clearly better than Zlatan's league, Serie A."

Arsenal's transfer targets, if any, for the summer are yet unclear, but they have been linked with players as diverse as Newcastle United striker Obafemi Martins and Bolton Wanderers' England defender Gary Cahill.
Nice one Bendtner. Also rumours are spreading that we've signed Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax for 7.5mil. Allegedly this will be announced within 48 hours.

Awesome. Zlatan isn't known for saying much worth listening to. Though to be fair, when Wenger feels he's played Bendtner enough to make a bunch on the transfer market, he might not be so happy about Arsenal either.

Also, I just order the new away kit. It's not yellow. Looks like all the top teams have decent away shirts this season

I still love Adebayor in spite of his shit headedness.
C'mon, that overhead kick against Villarreal?
That could make up for peeing in my bride's champagne.

Adebayor is in relative terms not as good as Eboue, when figuring transfer fees, their position in the squad (Ade - first team key player, Eboue back up for the first team) etc. Perspective gentlemen. Ade, has not worked hard enough, not taken his chances in front of goal often enough to warrant a first team place and so he should go. Thank God RVP extended his contract though.

Some interesting stats about the apparent dud, Denilson and the shining star in midfield, Alonso:

Appearances: Denilson (37), Alonso (33)
Tackles Won: Denilson (103), Alonso (62)
Tackles Lost: Denilson (28), Alonso (27)
Goals Scored: Denilson (3), Alonso (3)
Goals Assisted: Denilson (7), Alonso (4)
Total/Accurate Passes: Denilson (2535/2204) 89%, Alonso (2482/2076) 83%

It's also been neatly forgotten how excellent Denilson was at the start of the season and the goals and assists that he contributed which saved our skins on many occasions.

With regards to Bendtner's renaisance at the end of the season to note that when asked by Sky Sports in a live Interview who his favourite strike partner is at Arsenal, he said it was Bendtner. One thing that I've noticed is the lack of cohesion up front, partnerships not really working, especially with Ade and RVP. It appears that RVP with Bendtner and Bendtner with Walcott works better than any combination including Adebayor. I'd like to see Bendtner up front next season offering a foil for Walcott, but I know they'll keep Walcott on the right wing. It will be interesting to see how they set out. I hope we go for the 4.2.3.1 this season. I think it worked well at the end of the season gone.

You can say it any way you like, but Eboue is a liability.

I'm not 100% on RVP. Something iffy about 'im if you ask me, but hopefully he's genuine about wanting to stay. I'd also like to see Bendter up front more often. If not, we can play him down back instead of putting Senderos back out on the pitch.

Eboue has cost us fewer games than Adebayor for two simple reasons. Ade does not take his chances. Ade plays more games. Eboue's recent perception as a defensive liability is a largely exaggerated. He was a greater liability was when he was a right back. He had one abortion this year, but otherwise his perfomances weren't terrible and they were not good. They were mediocre, and as we know, he's a squad player. The season he played right back he was poor. He constantly gave away free kicks in dangerous areas but as he attacked frequently, the sheep felt he was great. Even still, that season as right back he still performed better as a full back than Clichy did last year. Clichy cost us dear for a season and a half. When Gibbs was dropped at left back last year, Eboue played exceptionally well in the outside left defensive position.

I'd be surprised and disappointed if Eboue stayed this summer but I'd be even more annoyed if Ade stayed. Keeping Ade, when you consider our wage structure hurts our prospects of improving our team as we simply cannot afford to strengthen. We need a player in lieu of him. I'd also be surprised if Senderos played another competitive game for Arsenal. Again he's a squad player, not a first team prospect and he'd be behind Gallas, Toure, Djorou and Vermaelan in the pecking order so keeping him as a squad player in my view is desirable as he is a more than capable deputy to those three with him only ever having serious defensive issues against Drogba. I personally feel, as do Senderos and many teams in Europe that he now needs first team football, so we will lose Senderos, the fans who don't understand that we need decent understudies will cheer because they illogically compare him to his first team counterparts and set him the same high standard.

To replace Senderos, I've said since 2008 that Wenger should buy Sakho, but now it's too late, the fucker is already perceived as they next big thing in European defence, but if we landed him, it would be an extraordinary replacement for Senderos - it's not going to happen though.

RVP has officially signed a 5 year extension by the way, so if he's not genuine, we'll get a lot of cash.

I think it may be time to let Fabregas go. If his heart is not at the club, and we all know he will eventually go to Barca, but if his heart is elsewhere, if he is not committed and cannot gel with two capable and decent midfielders in Song and Denilson (this is why Nasri was put in central midfield instead of Fabregas to pair with them both when Fabregas recovered from Injury) then perhaps if the balance is not right either and if we're offered the right money, we should let him leave. He's a great player, but he's not Vieira, Henry, Anelka...what I'm saying is, these players were better (I've no doubt in my mind that given time Fabregas will reach their stature), and they were not irreplaceable, we should fear him fucking off. He was our main weakness in midfield last year (when he was fit).
