Simply the greatest thing I have heard since the 70's. Shades of Bungle/Fantomas/Ruins/Locust/Lightning Bolt et al.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DOGF2y1aiskhttps://www.facebook.com/zeusbumbum

I like Bungle, and some Ruins, but not those other bands you mention
what percentage of Bungle/Ruins vs the other stuff would say is in this band?
I stil may click, based or not on your answer or lack of one.

Their style is hard to pin down.. a mash up of lots of styles..
my critique was fairly lazy but maybe 20% of each artist mentioned plus 110% originality.

use of the word "style" is 25% correct.
each artist is 40% themselves and 60% their perception of what people think they are.
Originality is an 80% correct word and 110% is an exagerated, overblow pipe-dream.
I'm hoping my statements are 95% correct on the 90% of days I am 100%.

I stand corrected then. "sound" over "style" would be more appropriate.
However I stand by my philosophy that every individual should strive to give 110% on a daily basis.
Zeus! kick ass, whatever the weather.

ok alan metcalfe, I gave that youtube song 2 uninterrupted listens... and now i don't know who should be slapped. me or you. i'll elaborate.
this was a rough ride. and not as in "wow, these guys are abrasive and heavy and like... a few other bands that are like... nothing else!". what i mean is that getting through that one song twice was a real deal lesson in self control (must not quit early! must not scream! must not destroy screen caveman style!). haha, sorry. these guys are just far too rolled in corn and family friendly for me. they are playing right into the safe warm and calming palm of the joke. "dude, we don't even take ourownselves seriously!". you know, the typical trapdoor ready and waiting for the quick and painless escape. but on the way out, to all of those who disapprove: "you guys just don't get it!".
oh I GET IT. and i want to hit it with a coal shovel.

I sincerely thank you for your elaborations on the sound of this band.
But in light of the comments in this here thread, it's not looking good: I still haven't cllcked, and may not yet
Would my life be improved by letting Zeus into my life?
I'm wondering if you can explain whether or not they possess a melodic element in the vocals. That's kind of a dealbreaker to me. And no, emo vocals don't count. The Locust I take it are an emo band correct?

I thought I might have a tough job trying to convince some on this board..
Their album Opera is an eclectic mix and undoubtedly has abrasive and heavy moments, maybe that one track isn't doing their overall sound justice.
Ah well I guess I'm alone here as the answer to whether or not the vocals possess any melody is.. NO!

I listened. Not bad, but reminded me more of Melvins/Big Business/Primus/90s noise rock than the bands you mentioned, I heard no Bungle whatsoever in that one track
