Nope, different thing altogether.
This is a gypsy type band; Estradasphere's bassist, Tim Smolens' brother, Doug is on guitar and their previous albums have had some folks from Estradasphere on them.
It's pretty good stuff, I'd say.
I've been in Raleigh 5 years now and haven't gone to any of the 3 Hopscotch's... maybe next year?
All the bands I'd want to see this year I've seen many times already (the Roots about 5 times from 99 to 2006)... too many local acts I've never heard.
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'd like quite a few of them, but if I'm gonna drop 175 bucks for a festival I want to be keen on seeing more than like 5 of them.
I hope it kicks ass, though.
May stroll downtown to see what's going on though.

yup only 4 bands i wanted to see this year: yo la tengo, the hot @ nights, sunn))0)(), and the roots.
i cant see droppin 175 on those 4. probly gonna rain for the roots. u should look me up. we play lotta music over here. had a party last nite. lotta strippers and tequilla till 5 AM. good times. i was giving out shots of oil. i stay near the fairgrounds.
