lol you guys will never get any say in how a tomahawk album will sound... i can't believe you're even assuming to know how someone else's creation should sound! you guys are way too critical... borderline hecklers.

here's an awesome movie about hecklers you should see

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N0uzTMhc1Q

i just read that Spin article and they called Album of the Year FNM's Swan Song... that's as fucked up as the negative reviews you guys are pumping out. i think Spin and you guys just don't get it

First post in aaaages just to point out that notHuman needs to find out what "Swan Song" means, because Album of the Year was indeed Faith No More's swan song.

haha bro you should come back more often

i'll give ya the benefit of the doubt bro... I found 2 entries in Wikipedia that might change your mind.

Wikipedia:
-Faith No More 1982-1998, 2009-2012.
-"Swan song" is a metaphorical phrase for a final gesture, effort, or performance given just before death or retirement.

does your definition of swan song include an option to resurrect itself and perform again? put together a new song and play it live for the first time? after having their final performance? do i really need to ask questions after pointing out a few points that speak for themselves?

anything else i need? don't taze me bro ;)

Oddfellows
Stone Letter
IOU
White Hats / Black Hats
Rise Up Dirty Waters
The Quiet Few
South Paw
Waratorium
Typhoon

SOLID!

You Tube rips are the best so far.

MP is an true musical artists, in opposite to most music makers. as is Duane Denison.
these days real musical artists are a rare thing.
so calling their art "shit" only because yóu dont like it is just absurd. not to mention close minded.
but that is just my honest and humble opinion.

It's a dumb mainstream rock record that I don't like. I don't give them the benefit of the doubt just because they've both made "art" I enjoy. They're human beings. We all make mistakes. The first Tomahawk LP was great. I tend to remember this forum and people on the Ipecac board acting like it was total shit back in the day. I'm not being negative for the sake of it.

Album of the Year WAS their last album, it's pretty hard to argue that.

They have reunited to tour and make cash, they are not "resurrected".

It's all good bro, I'm sure it used to literally refer to the last studio recordings by swans right before they died hahahaha

What do you think Touring is?

Your problem seems to be with definitions of common words.
Death = the act of dying
Dead = not alive (for example, being unable to perform)
Retirement = the point where a person stops working completely, does not come back
Completely = totally, utterly

Given these easily understood terms, maybe you should have stayed in "retirement"

Reiterating the literal meanings of words doesn't mean a lot and misses the essence somewhat.
  • Faith No More released six albums between 1985 and 1997.
    They broke up in 1998.
Their last album before the break up was Album of the Year.
They reformed in 2009 as old men for a bunch of shows to put some money in the bank, which is fair enough.
But if Faith No More ever release another album I will concede. Now I have two reasons to hope they never release another album.

Was Trompe Le Monde not The Pixies swan song? Was Terror Twilight not Pavement's swan song? And while were here, wouldn't it have been better if Down on the Upside was Soundgarden's swan song?

It was "Down On the Upside", dumbass. You'll never have a swansong because you never had a good one. At best a Fart Coda.

I know where you were trying to go with your talentless opinion, stupid. What I am trying to tell your ignorant ass is the album was actually very good. On the contrary to any thing you have ever done musically...ever.

I haven't posted in awhile. I didn't really care for "Stone Letter" when I heard it, so I wasn't expecting much with this record, but I've been pleasantly surprised. I like most of it.
