The Melvins are planning to release a new outing dubbed “Freak Puke” through Ipecac on June 05th. The effort will be released under the groups ‘Melvins Lite‘ moniker, which sees the band with a retooled lineup of King Buzzo, Dale Crover and Trevor Dunn (Secret Chiefs 3, ex-Mr. Bungle).

The group, complete with Dunn, are apparently planning to hit the road in support of the effort this summer.

Awesome. Big Business really dragged the band down into a phase of terminal dullness. Even Buzzo looked like he hated it.
Now the challenge is to make sure Dunn's recent love affair with making really shitty music (Mad Love) doesn't inhibit what could be an awesome opportunity for the Melvins to break their recent losing streak.

a few years ago at the chicago auto show we enjoyed the scion exhibit quite a bit . usually the displays have slender model type women in evening gowns and stuff like that . scion had lil hood rats , young hair dyed types with ink and suspenders pimp strolling around all "woo woo dawg peep dis car yo " . the techno music was ten times louder than anything else , and they had giveaways every 15 minutes . we went back 3 times till we learned the answers to the questions , like "what color is this shitbox" answer "metheyce blue ... i got the coolest scion pimp hat and some scion ipod sockies .

whenever i see a scion shitbox or a honda odessy i always rubberneck to see the fuckin morons riding in it . almost as much fun as "spot the P.T. looser" (usually an obese person , driving way too fast) .

The new EP is with Big Business.

I wish he'd drop them though, the BB-Melvins are too watered down and predictable at this point. I hope this Melvins Lite album is weird and freaky.

Song has a bit of that Revolve swagger. Only taken them 18 years to revisit their finest moment.

I don't think he heard you. Did you speak at one constant volume, at one constant pitch, at one constant rhythm, right into his ear?

The cover of Station to Station is pretty amazing on the new cover album.
I would have loved to have been in the room when they cut the vocals

I wish the Melvins would do a whole album with the Foetus guy
