My good mate Phil with his melancholic folky band "The Haiku", who just keep getting better. Last EP is on iTunes for all you Apple iWhores out there who get freaked out by alternative music sources:

Inevitable use of MySpace now
Reggae band The Spectres, my Oz mate Soren plays drums and they have one of the best bass players I have ever jammed with (Alan), plus the added charm that singer Phil/Graham (depends how you know him) is a full time professionally trained clown during the day. They just released an album which is fucking epic:

Townhouse, who supported them recently and have a very unique sound, with unusual instruments and just damn good songs. I couldn't say what "category"

Friend Erik who is a DJ and likes his industrial stuff on the evil side of things. I want to get back into my own scripts and go full time making short films once the next Teamfishcake movie is done and use them for the soundtrack:

Soren's metal band, Lycanthrope, with my funny as fuck mate Cameron singing. We all met working in the Edinburgh Dungeon. I borrow their bass player Chris when I do my Meow thing. They have a rough as fuck video of them rehearsing in my drummer's studio:

I go and support my friends bands whenever I can, it usually means a handful of cash in some dingy venue, a load of drinks and discovering new bands (like Townhouse) on what is a very small scene in the capital here. Please note, none of the above bands are whiny teenage indie rock pricks who sing about their feelings.

Hope you enjoy and can make some similar recommendations.
