Requiem for a Dream

Bah! came home late last night drunk to find my flat mates watching it on the big screen. Caught the end of it. Made me want to spew.

I have to say, I was bored through most of this movie. It was a good movie, but boring. Best way for me to describe it. Good but boring.

It's better if you consider it a comedy.

Are there ANY realistic drug films?

Requiem and Trainspotting drift into junkie/gangster territory - all my drug experiences were based in raves, clubs, pubs, gigs, festivals or my bedroom, playing on the SNES until 3am...in fact my life hasn't changed that drastically, I just don't do drugs anymore.

How about I make a film about three mates who neck acid, mushies and speed (when they need to go somewhere), smoke tonnes of rocky (tobacco joints, not cigs) and just generally enjoy ourselves in a shite small town in Scotland?

No one dies, no gangsters are involved.

I thought Human Traffic rang a few loud bells, in particular the wanky party full of people I have met at exactly those kind if parties...the spliff etiquette sequence, the speedy, trippy bits were well done, and it was actually FUNNY....I even liked the sound track.

Oh and...no one dies, no gangsters are involved

I watched Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas on the same day as Requiem for a Dream. I found Fear and Loathing to be much more realistic in terms of my experience with drugs.

Drugs movies that try to be funny and smart never are. The only good drug movies are the drama ones like Candy where people do everything normal people don't do.

At least give us an example.

Exactly. The best part (besides watching stupid junkies getting what they deserve) is when the fridge chases the fellas mother around. Quality. I want to sit down with your Touchy and re edit this films sound with canned laughter.

Bully and Traffic are not greater than ANYTHING.

Pineapple Express is the best drug movie of 2008.
