this was my dads favorite scene of all time . he always would quote it after we left a resteraunt when the waitress was rude .

Eastwood Isn't an idiot. I've liked him better as a director than in anything he's starred in. Last I heard he wrote the adaptation for Blood Meridian (cormack mccarthhy) years ago, but it's so true and bloody to the original that it'll even now take The Road blowing people away before it's even considered getting made.
