Whats So Good About David Lynch?

Post by Peeping Tom »

i thought blue velvet was very average, and the same about mulholland dr, but i thought i would hire out lost highway and eraserhead from the video store to see what theyre like and well i watched eraserhead and thought it was just arty farty.. blah, really average stuff that i should of been stoned while watching.
im yet to watch lost highway yet but so far Twin Peaks: fire walk with me is my favorite so far.

Lost Highway is probably me favourite. What's good about him is that his films doesn't kill mystery. He reminds me somewhat of Tarkovskij in that there is always something hidden in his films, something myseterious.

I'm not the biggest fan of ereaserhead, but if you watch a couple of the films again I'm pretty sure they will grow on you.

What's so good about David Lynch?

- Dwarves talking backwards
- Pretending you "get it" and impressing all your friends
- Jennifer Connelly in lingerie
- Imagining how screwed up his kids are

As far as I can tell she has not appeared in any Lynch films, but some have mistaken her appearance in Mulholland Falls as an appearance in Mulholland Drive.

Ive seen it, and I agree. Its very different from his other work. Lynch also hates the western genre

Thank you, Mr Feely.
And might I add The Quick and the Dead to this illustrious list?

I want to see Paris, Tejas.
They never show it on TV.
I'm not in the mood to get it from other sources.
