Well most of my answers would be school books, but I generally didn't have to read them to answer questions on them.

One of the few horrid ones I did read was 'Fly Away Peter' by David Malouf.

I loathe him to this day.

I'll stop reading a book if I don't think it's good. I did read the da vinci code all the way through, though. My mom wanted to know if it was worth reading, so she made me read it first.

Stuff for school, I just didn't read all the way through (Great Expectations)
Stuff I don't like, if I decide I've given it enough chance, I'll stop reading (Naked Lunch)
So, to qualify for this thread, I have to like the book until the ending lets me down. The most recent I can think of for -that- would have to be Carpenter's Gothic, by Gaddis. Great book. Piss-off of an ending.

In this category I'd place Philip Roth's The Plot Against America. The alternate pro-Nazi America stuff was really cool, but then he fucked it up by resolving everything too tidily and incredibly, as if everything else had never happened.

I read it in one sitting. Then I sorta wished for that part of my life back. But honsestly I couldn't put it down. He starts the book by saying that he isn't going to name names isn't going to talk smack on anyone. Then the whole final chapter is spent dogging on E. Van Halen.

Alright. I'm trying to get through this. Not sure if I will.
Not just this page though. An entire book.
Give me your thoughts on this writing.
