If you look up "overrated" in the dictionary, you'll find a definition of the word "overrated." Which Kubrick is.

I have to say for the most part I like Kubrik. ..but that's as far as I'd go (holistically). There are films of his I adore, like Paths of Glory , Clockwork Orange and Strangelove. Metal Jacket was good but to be honest didn't move the earth for me and I feel that is over rated. Everything else I can leave. I hated the Shining.

Fairly rated: The Shining, Dr Strangelove, Lolita, Barry Lyndon, Full Metal Jacket. ----> Its all good.

Overrated: 2001 (at least its dated as fuck), Clockwork (clockwork is good, but not that good. Its one of his best known films. Why? Because of the violence? The first half of the film is beyond great. The second half is not)

Underrated: Eyes Wide Shut (if you hate this film, you are kind of retarded). Paths of Glory is also a bit underrated if you ask me. The imdb score is high, but most people forget about it. Its one of his best films.

Alright, alright.
Mitch...give us your review.

Make sure to talk about the guy shooting the horse from the sports car.
I love that bit. When he had to act racist. You feel it. Kubrick does that to a man.

A somewhat interesting story that serves as a slow-build leading to one of the best photographs I've seen in cinema. They'd do the money-shot with CGI, these days.

EDIT: I don't remember the horse thing. Just the money shot.

The ending bit, yeah?
Airplanes and cash blowing in the breeze.

Try and find a copy. The horse shooting scene hurts your insides.

Just saw Full Metal Jacket again the other night- that is some seriously bad acting

I mean the whole John Wayne bits were pretty painfull

The best scene went into "Me So Horny"

The first section of Full Metal Jacket is a great film by itself. But it didn't build up Matthew Modine's character enough to care what happened to him in the second 2/3 of the movie.

Thanks, but no thanks Richard. I dont want to be an admin. I will however give you my review of The Killing. But not until Ive seen it again. Sometime during next week, does that sound okay to you?

Pardon me if I sound stupid, but what do you mean by jib? After a quick google search all I came up with is this: ประสิทธิภาพ ท่านสามารถเลือกซื้อสินค้าที่มีคุณภาพ ราคาถูก ...

I believe it's a nautical term... and a line Mr. Burns said in The Simpsons.
