Missed the first ep when it originally aired so I picked the DVD up from Amazon UK.

Six part BBC drama series from 2003 about a newspaper's investigation of the death of a prominent politician's assistant and the scandal resulting from their affair being linked to a conspiracy perpetrated by the oil industry.
Stars John Simm, Kelly Macdonald (swoon), Bill Nighy, Polly Walker (Atia from Rome) and James Macavoy (Shameless) as well as a few other excellent and mildly familiar faces.
Wonderfully complex and well written, brilliant acting from all involved, looks good and utterly more-ish.
And, of course, with all good things, someone has to go and fuck with it:

edit: Brad Pitt regularly appears then disappears from the cast listing.
Fer fuck's sake.
