I've lost my faith in documentary. I can't recall the last good one I saw outside the World War 2 one about the liberation of Paris by the French resistance which was hijacked by DeGaulle and the American troops.

Enjoyable, yes. Great? Nah... It would've been a pretty decent documentary if it weren't for that Cuba scene. Too bad Michael Moore is such a blatant demagog, he could've made some fine films otherwise...

He raises some important issues in this one, but it's like Moore has a compulsive tendency to feed his critics with enough (valid) arguments to attack his production on its conceptual manifestation alone, rather than adress the actual problem it portrays.

If his case was watertight, there'd be no room for controversy.

Oh yeah, I loved Cocaine Cowboys too. It lacked a little as an in-depth documentary, but the overall atmosphere of the movie was great...

I'll download that second one you mentioned... I'm a sucker for a good documentary. BTW, check www.joox.net, a lot of relatively hi-quality streaming documentaries to be found there..

Yes, I've noticed... Lately they've been offline a lot. I guess it's related to legal issues. Anyway, it seems to work again now...

This is the direct link to the documentaries. The divx-files are actually hosted on stage6.com, joox is just a portal to their larger files (i.e. full movies, documentaries etc.)

Now that's what I call documentary. Michael Shermer would love that!
