Prestige - Very enjoyable.Don't expect too much though.
Akira - Fell asleep. I'll get back to it.
Das Leben der Anderen - Let you known early next week.
Departed - Loved it.
Pan's Labyrinth - Loved it. Very sweet simple film. Reminded me a lot of Mulholland Drive with the protagonist's naivety and the general theme.
Blood Diamond - All the women in my office say it is excellent. This makes me a little hesitant knowing this film ranks up "there" with 'The Bodyguard' and 'Ghost'.
Proposition - I love westerns and this didn't disappoint. I love Winston and that Guy Pearce put in a convincing performance too.

No, its completly opposite. I enjoyed it, but I forgot it the next day..

If it was completely the opposite, you would have hated it and remembered it the day before.

so it's more like what "TT from MO 2" said, "It's been a few weeks since I've seen it, but 3 story lines and all I remember is a girl walking a plank."

Jesus Camp was on the tele last night. Can't be bothered trying to relive all the other threads about this, other than to say "fark" and shake my head a bit.

I recently saw a Slipknot DVD. A documentary of the latest two years of their career. I like band documentaries, sometimes even if I dont like the band. Here is the advertising description of the DVD: Raw, Uncensored, Uncut. Slipknot as never before seen. And indside and outside look at the two years of the chaos that is Slipknot.
Sounds fun enough for me, I thought...

Well, it wasnt... This band has 9 (!) members. My question is, how is it possible not to get ANY cool footage when you have 9 people+ touring for two years? I have never seen a more boring group of people. They pretend to be all crazy and stuff, but fact is that even Iam "crazier". These homos are nothing but posers! No tits, no drugs, no fights, some puking (their roadie), and a broken toilet. WOW!
When most of their music also sucks, there is really nothing that can save this release. BOOH!
Disc1: Voliminal, The 90-minute film that gives you an inside and outside look at two years of the chaos that is Slipknot, featuring hours of footage from the studio, backstage and onstage...

This probably belongs in gay, and iam sorry for posting it here. But I had to get this off my chest...

Music DVDs are generally a minefield of crap, Cliff 'em all aside.

Have you seen it?

Iam not a fan, but iam pretty open minded, and though "hey cool, a documentary"...

It totally failed! This is not a documentary. There is no story, just 2-15 second long shots, put together into a mess (or chaos if you want. I know thats what they want). Stuff like maggots (maggots are cool, because they remind you of death), fur (read above), dogs barking (fear), one of the guys playing with a handoll (spooky), etc... This might work if your name is Marilyn Manson. He released a similar "documentary" along with a live DVD. It had blowjobs, drugs, fights, blood and fucked up fans. Stuff like that can be fun to watch.
All nine Slipknot members are completly idiots talking about their all their anger and aggression because they grew up next to a cemetary or whatever. "Fuck the system", "Fuck the world"...
Its embarrassing to watch. Its not even involuntarily funny...

Britney Spears' lifestyle > Slipknot

Why am I even discussing this? Nobody here likes em, or what?

judasmuppet";p="853394 wrote:Music DVDs are generally a minefield of crap, Cliff 'em all aside.
I have many music DVDs, and when I come to think about it, yes most of the do suck :(
You end up only watching them once. I have this one Ennio Morricone DVD that I really like, and can watch over and over again. And then theres the Hullaballoo DVD from Muse, which is really good. Iam not a fan of Muse, and I dont really like any of their songs, but the energy from that gig is amazing! (also great editing!)
I still enjoy a good band documentary though...

Why cant all bands be like Spinal Tap?

You'll like Betty Blue Thunder Bear.

It has loads of steamy sex, violence, sorrow, finny jokes, reckless driving, drinking, ties with naked ladies and a pizza place called "Pizza Stromboli"

I'm telling you Thunder; You need to see this movie. You can shoot me in the knee-caps if you don't like it.
