Lacking the MTV-cheese of Lock Stock and Snatch with a bigger set of balls and much more of a true British feel "I farkin' larved it".

OK.

You know that slow-mo fight scene in Snatch? I fucking love it. Pump up the volume on that and let it sink in.

I liked Snatch too. Didn't like Lock Stock on second viewing. Snatch is a good modern Britcom, which thankfully unlike other Britcom's does not involve Hugh Grant or a romantic liason. Except for a Man and Caravan. Pitt was excellent in that. "Fer me mar".

Hey, I saw this other "british hardarse" film a while back. It had a good cast and it ended with a mobster's stomoch exploding.

Thoughts?

I've got The Long Good Friday on my shelf which I picked up at a garage sale that I still haven't watched.

Is that the one?

Still certainly british, but an african american is certain.

Hey you guys forgot:

1. Brits spell words properly in their script.

2. All characters in US films, no matter who they are or what role they are playing MUST conform to these standards:
-romantic male lead 3x older than female
3-female must be of supermodel good looks quality
4-everyone NICE survicews in a happy saccharine bullshit drawn out fucking apple pie feelgood bollock terrible sentimental fucking ending

In Britain, we'd rather cast the right person to do the fucking job.

5. UK films don't use piss-poor SNL "comedians" if they're supposed to be funny.

6. Brit scripts don't re-use the same characters/jokes as 1000 other Adam "one trick pony" Sandler/Ben "only does neurotic" Stiller films.

7. US trailers must give the film plot away in its entirety. You might think this would matter, however Americans are generally too stupid to remember what they've just been spoon fed, have no alternative cultural distractions and will watch a film about a guy that slowly unwraps a box filled with squirrel shit, as long as Owen Wilson or Bill Murray are doing it.

And:

8. UK films like to be realistic, ironic and witty so yanks don't get them and we can carry on being superior.

9. While we're at it, you're making a film, not a fucking "movie". Movie? Moving Picture? Is it 1912?
 :rainbow:

10. If you're making a film in this country, you can pretty much make anything you want as long as you get funding. Your script, director and actors will work faithfully to produce what the writer wants. In Hollywood, you have to suck a producer's cock to make a straight to video (see what I did there?) piece of crap, re-written by satan's rectum, that only stoners wil rent.

I thang you.

Watched this today, and liked it a lot. Pretty smart little twister.

Wouldn't have minded finding more out more on Colm Meaney's character. Looked like there was a hint or two at some debauchery there.

Watched this a week ago (catch up judy).

A good addition to the whole 'hard cunt' genre.

And if you want more good colm meany, it's simple. Watch every episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, as well as Intermission, where he is a self described 'Hard As Nails Cunt'.

I'm a bit of a fan of the Colmster myself, but not always. Never been a big fan of Deep Space Nine.

I'm referring specifically to the bit where Craig goes to visit Colm. There something going on there, just at that moment. Plus there's all the posters around the place.

Deep Space Nine rools largely because of Meaney.
