 When I was in Cape Town we took a drive down to the Cape of Good Hope and stopped near a troop of baboons to get some pics and I have some lovely close-ups of their arses tucked away somewhere as they came and sat on the bonnet. Apparently the last time one shat on the roof.

my guess is some kind of bear for that other pic then.

Sorry I can't help much, hey - that baboon on the left looks like it's crapping a fresh blancmange!

I had no idea porcupines climbed trees!
That's where they spend most of their time. They do a number on the trees eating their bark all winter, as I recall. Also leaves, twigs, berries, etc.

If you shook at all it would look like a hurricane hit.
I have no clue what the little sleeping things are on the rocks in the second picture.
Mary?
the second one creased me up the most as it took me ages to work out there was anything alive in there to begin with. I only just found the second 'thing' in there this morning and damn near sprayed coffee over my keyboard.
They look like red pandas in that shot but red pandas wouldn't be in that kind of exhibit (no trees). Some kind of bear? I can't even get an idea of scale! I thought it was a jaguar on the right, but a bear and a jaguar in the same exhibit seems a bit unlikely, albeit entertaining if you're a Roman visitor to the zoo.
This one?
Rick Cave";p="872303 wrote:Image
To me they look like they might be marmots, which would be displayed with rocks & without trees, though I'm surprised they're up so high. It is hard to tell, though. What zoo was this?
Rick Cave";p="872303 wrote:Image
That one's a cotton-top tamarin! But you probably already knew that.

It's the Prospect Park zoo in Brooklyn.

Is that at the San Diego Wild Animal Park? That place rules.

Nice shots! Do you have an image gallery somewhere?
