Zeni Geva Australia Tour Sept/Oct 2010
Posted: 12 Aug 2010, 01:26
As quoted on their Myspace (www.myspace.com/zenigeva) Zeni Geva is a Japanese prog-hardcore band, led by singer and guitarist KK Null, one pioneering group of innovators and legends.
Hailing from Tokyo, Zeni Geva was founded in 1987 and quickly found success in the US and Europe, this enabled Zeni Geva the rare chance to tour abroad along side such notable bands as Neurosis, Shallac, Eyehategod, Melvins and Don Caballero. Along with The Boredoms, Zeni Geva was one of the first Japanese bands to extensively tour outside of Japan and be embraced by a largely western audience.
Cited as one of Steve Albini’s favorite bands, Albini openly appreciates the bands wide range of influences and the fact that they’ve stayed true to their Japanese roots as apposed to trying to westernize their sound. After 12 albums, 5 of which being produced by Steve Albini, it’s safe to say he’s a fan.
The current line up of Zeni Geva reintroduces Tatsuya Yoshida to the fold after a 20 year absence, he played with Zeni Geva between the years of 1989 -1990 and was featured on their debut album ‘Maximum Money Monster’. Yoshida also plays in Ruins and Acid Mothers Temple.
For the first time in 14 years, Heathen Skulls are proud to present the legendary Japanese hardcore noise punks ZENI GEVA in Australia.
