2. Finished last season 24 points behind champions Chelsea.

3. Gained the highest points per game record last season in Premiership matches in which they scored first - won 19 and drew one of 20 at 2.9 points per game.

4. Ended last season on a three-match winning sequence in the highest League.

5. Three of their 13 League titles have come in the Premiership era (1997-98, 2001-02 and 2003-04).

Who died? I noticed the black arm bands but the commentators didn't say anything.

Saw the highlights on Match of the Day. I have no idea who died.

Theo was fucking great from what I saw and the comments from Wenger and O'Neil about him were spot on.

Theo Walcott's half-hour cameo was so eye-catching it made one think Sven Goran Eriksson's error was not in taking him to Germany, but in failing to play him when he got there.

"I don't normally notice opposition players but he was brilliant," said O'Neill. "He's the kind of player who can bring something to any team when he comes on," said Wenger. "He came back from the World Cup happy at being there but frustrated at not having played. I'm surprised he got criticism for being there. You can understand criticism when you don't play well, but if you don't play at all..."

Gallas, Denilson and Baptista in. Reyes, Cygan and Cashley "Cunt" Cole out.

Good deal all round. Denilson might take a few months (maybe a few seasons) to cement a first team place, but the fella is already fantastic.

Fabregas is the Arsenal.com Player of the Month

Cesc Fabregas has been named as Player of the Month for August after the closest poll in Arsenal.com history.

The Spain midfielder edged out fellow teenager Theo Walcott by just two votes. The latter attracted plenty of support after a handful of exciting substitute performances, but Fabregas pipped Walcott thanks largely to his match-winning performance against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League

Fabregas scored twice in Croatia as Arsenal earned a 3-0 first-leg advantage. Walcott came off the bench in the second leg to set up the winner for Mathieu Flamini just days before creating Gilberto's equalising goal against Aston Villa in the Premiership opener at Emirates Stadium.

Robin van Persie completes our top three for August. The Dutch forward scored in Croatia and was unfortunate not to add to his tally with a host of chances in the 1-0 defeat at Manchester City.

Tell all this to my fantasy team.

Things just clicked today. We not only won, but dominated. Admitedly, Lehmann kept us in the game but the same could be said about their keeper with the penalty and resultant corner. I am a very happy g00ner right now.

As Andy said last week "Arsenal are ready to hammer someone, but it won't be Man U".

Jesus, that was beautiful.
It's good when we play a team that actually plays and doesn't just have a 10 man defense the whole match.
I'm very happy now.

IF sad ugly pathetic fucks buy sex, it can be agreed that sad pathetic ugly football teams buy trophies. Arsenal win their trophies through sexy football just like sexy men win sexy women. Chelsea are Kerb-crawl Champions.
