The Arsenal White kit is 3rd strip this season, JJB have decided not to continue stocking it.

£15 a shirt ($30.00)

They do USA I thinks.

Got myself one. Nice.

Lucky I don't really like that shirt, because they've run out of my size.

Nasri signing official. Hleb should be gone by Sunday.

Hleb is gone for real now. And Gilberto too?

That makes three holding-men offloaded in the last few months that haven't been replaced. I can't work out who Wenger is looking at putting there. The best I can see is Diaby, and I don't know about him yet.

What I've seen of him has been OK. He definitely needs more exposure at that level to be able to cope with it, I reckon. [/Catch22]

Arsenal love turncoat ex-captains, eh?

Anyway, maybe Wenger was telling a bit more truth than I originally thought when he made that stadium-debt whinge a few weeks ago. Levy would do well to see how Arsenal go about their dealings this summer.

Xabi Alonso seems the latest rumour. But yeah. Grain of salt and all that.

Gilberto was oput of first team plans since last years Copa America and when he did feature, he was awful. Flamini was a bit of a blow but it was also expected. Hleb isn'tt a holding midfielder and was replaced before he left. Hleb is a central attacking midfielder. Hleb was shot shy but a good player.

Diaby is a poor defensive player. Diaby is a central midfielder/attacking midfielder. He's not going to usurp Fabregas. It will be interesting to see how he's deployed this season because last season was as a left winger where he was only effective in the Champion's league early rounds and against lesser domestic opposition.

Song is a defensive midfielder and there is little between him and Flamini - the split is in confidence. Song in my view plays better as a central defender and is the perfect cover for Gallas and Toure. Gallas and Toure were not played together too much last season as they hated each other, so Toure was relegated much of the time to right back and defensive midfield. Toure is an a good defensive midfielder. Toure and Gallas have apparently ironed out their differences after the end of the season and are set to resume their partnership at centre back.

Adebayor if he goes does not really need replacing. Eduardo is already training well and will beat Rosicky back in first team training. Van Persie is also fit and as seen at the end of last season, Walcott is now ready to be played as striker, along with Vela who has finished his loan spell and is just shy of his EU passport status being confirmed.

The keepers are an unknown quantity. It remains to be seen that Almunia can step up. Last season he was passable. Fabianski looks excellent, especially considering his youth. I think it may be a bit sopon for him to take the first team jersey and all indications suggest that Wenger is placing his chips with Almunia and will not buy a replacement keeper just yet.

Wenger will not be buying in defence unless a bargain crops up but is making enquiries for a defensive midfielder. The only confirmed target is Gareth Barry, who would slot naturally into that role (and rightfully so) ahead of Song. I'd love Barry to sign with us, but I don't see it happening.

The rumours of Arshavin and Yaya Toure are not particularly interesting and I';d be surprised and disappointed if either came to us as first team players. Lasana Diara was the perfect player for us to sign...pity we signed him 10 months too early.

Whoa. We're using Songy in a serious discussion now? Times change.

This is the first I've heard of Barry and Arsenal. He's either going to Liverpool for a suitable Rafa price or warming that Villa bench for an enjoyable five years. He'd probably get on with Gallas like a house on fire, though.

Song was used ahead of Toure at the end of last season and was exceptional. This was a period where Wenger could confidently blood players he normally would not since all competition for Arsenal had effectively ended. Regarding Barry and Arsenal, it has been all over the news since Aston Villa's pre season press conference where Martin spoke of his discussions with Pat Rice. There has been no bid, just an enquiry.

PS. Denilson is a very capable defensive midfielder. He could taking the DM position without too much fuss.

Wenger'll sign someone, but Arshavin is a bit risky unless he swings a bargain.
Arsenal won't offer him anything more than two years, if they actually are interested.

Coquelin looked excellent yesterday as did Jack Wiltshire and Ramsey. Barazite's looks like he'll be awesome in a year or two. Wenger said yesterday postmatch that he's looking at signing up to two more players maybe, definitely one more.

Yes. He's in an impossible position though. Too good for the reserves, not experienced enough for the 1st team, same as Merida and Barazite. All three need Premiership loan spells.

We've made our final signing too. Amaury Bischoff signed today.

Wiltsheer's goal tonight. Wonderful composure. Highlight was Vela and Bendnter's tag team. First goal by Vela after a wonderful assist by B. Then B played a 1-2 with Vela and too the ball of Boulerouz and slotted past Lehmann. Great performance. Eboue as Defensive Midfielder was a revelation, and man of the match was Sagna. Quietly going about his duties, he marshalled the flank perfectly. Clichy was always a threat but was defensively suspect.

Well three hours until i toddle off with the kids to watch Arsenal play Juventus. It;s going to be a cracker. Wiltshie is going to play and I can;t wait to see him like I did Sagna and Traore last year who completely amazed me. FYI - good link for up and coming players.
